Interesting behind the scenes snapshot of Mettalica's bass audition and choosing Ronnie Trujillo.
And the offer I at the kitchen table: $1 million, signing bonus.
It's short. Check it out:

It was in the documentary Some Kind Of Monster, million dollars is nothing to them. It Rob Trujillo BTW
I cannot see it, but I viewed it on YT.
^^ Thanks, Melv.
Ron, Rob. Same thing.
Good music, and more money and pussy that I get.
I saw the same special and the drummer comes across as a real
arrogant arsehole.
And Rob beat some great bass players to win the Metallica gig.
The video of "King Nothing"
The music if "fair" in my opinion - which is subjective - but I dig the lyrics.
Video:
Rob Trujillo played for Ozzy's band, Black Label Society and Suicidal tendencies as well. Jason Newsted the ex-Metallica bassist went to Ozzy's band for a while. He is a great accomplished player with strong stage presence but the best for Metallica was the original bass player, Cliff Burton, who sadly passed away in 1986.
$1 million cash on the table but more importantly 25% share of the album profits. I am sure that Lars Ulrich had a lot of finer details in the contract but wanted to make it look good on camera. I don't believe this includes touring profits, merchandise....just St. Anger album sales, which unfortunately bombed amongst die hard fans.....due to the lack of any guitar solos on the album.
^ How's your recording studio coming along Pluto?
I'm itching to come down for a jam one of these days!
^ And I really feel he has always been the weak artistic link in Metallica being only an average drummer at best.
An arrogant prick who has caused more problems and band break-ups than what he is worth in my opinion.
The magic in Metallica is James Hetfield and not the arrogant Danish garden gnome sitting behind the drums. The delivery of his voice and riffs in unison is truly amazing. When they started out, Dave Mustaine was the co/lead guitarist and vocalist....If that line up would have lasted(but the egos were too big), imagine what we would have had today?
I would love to see the big man "Chad Smith" sit in with Metallica.
Before he joined the Chilli Peppers he was through and through heavy metal but like great drummers is so versatile it is scary.
A deserving thread... Who's the best rock metal drummer in the world?

Shattered some illusions for me, they came across as a bunch of self-obsessed tossers with all that therapy nonsense.
Agreed. It was only Kirk who seemed normal, and he should've been more pissed off than the other two seeing as all his widdly bits had been thrown out.Originally Posted by AntRobertson
