Just recently rewatched a few of Woody Allen's movies and they are still good value and have aged well I think.
Some people find his screen persona/appearance grating but I have never really had a problem with it and he does not appear so much in his later stuff.
I just watched his movie Annie Hall from 1977. I don't think I had ever seen it before - I was expecting to remember it but it was all new. Still quite sharp even after 40 years.
After watching Annie Hall (1977) I watched Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) and Crimes and Misdemeanours (1989) and The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985). Woody Allen's stuff is still quite fresh and even a little philosophically thought provoking at times I think.
His more recent one Blue Jasmine was very good I thought. I watched Midnight in Paris quite a few times since it came out in 2011 before I discovered it was a Woody Allen movie.
I have many still to watch/rewatch so if anybody has any recommendations post them up.
