Mad Max: Fury Road. Six Oscars. WTF????? Total garbage. Perhaps suitable for a braindead 15 year old. Absolute shit. When I beamed it up, I saw that I had looked at it a while ago...made it 9 minutes.

    So...6 Oscars.........Must have missed something.

So, now 40 minutes in. My 16 year old son just went to bed. His comment: "Total crap".

So, going to keep on....must be something there....maybe....I hope....

At least I know it can't get worse. It's at zero now.....

It was actually a very well done movie for that genre.

A joke movie on the back of a gone by era.

    Terrible.

A lot more money than the original, and a lot less meaning than the original, but an editor desperate to spend his/her budget.

Utter shite and an academy desperate for help...

George Miller who directed all three previous Mad Max movies directed this one too and he was nominated for Best Director. I guess all of the ones that followed the first one had less meaning than the original, whatever that means.

I agree. It's not like it was intended as an in-depth dissection of the human condition.

Anyway, weren't the awards it received for technical, make-up and effects stuff? I really don't know, didn't watch the Oscars.

If you have a franchise that works like Mad Max why not use the same director to modernize it for younger audiences. For me it felt like it felt like it fit right in to the tradition of the earlier Mad Max movies.

I'm going to watch it again actually.

First time was a TS copy which, whilst compltely watchable, obviously wasn't HD quality.

    Yes.

    Sound and editing etc.

It was very well done in many ways, while not really my kind of movie.

In fairness, the second half was better than the first. I actually watched the entire movie.
