THE 1,600 PANDAS World Tour will be gracing 10 landmarks in Thailand from next month in a move to promote conservation and awareness of environmental issues.
The three-hour Panda flash mob will be on display from March 4-19 at different sites in the capital including Sanam Luang, Chong Nonsi BTS Station, Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre, Phra Sumen Fort, the Giant Swing and Lumpini Park.
The “1,600 Pandas World Tour” was first launched in 2008 by the WWF and acclaimed French artist Paulo Grangeon crafted 1,600 pandas – to mark the number of pandas left in the wild at the time – from paper mache. The pandas were then exhibited in some 100 locations in different countries such as France, Italy, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia and South Korea.
