^ Sorry I'll leave reading Pravda to you. According to your more trusted sources what was the procedure she was having done?

Huh? I'm not arguing your point as I neither know nor care if she was under the knife or not.

I was just pointing out that even by the woefully feeble standards of US journalism CNN is garbage. If you think there is a word worth reading written anywhere on CNN then you should meet the Gell-Mann Amnesia Effect:

“Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray's case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward—reversing cause and effect. I call these the "wet streets cause rain" stories. Paper's full of them.
In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know.”

Okay, it's not about the subject at hand but a rant against CNN. Thank you for the explanatory quote from a dead guy who wrote a lot of far fetched fiction. Frankly, I couldn't care less.

    Fair enough too.

A good reminder that there is no such thing as a routine procedure. surgery is invasive and not to be taken lightly.

She even collapsed bridges with laughter.
Ruby Wax is even less funny, oh how she is a neurotic child from a normal jewish family.
Their neurotic jokes leave Me cold.

I assume this Joan Rivers must have been big in the US. She only seemed to be known elsewhere for plastic surgery and bigotry. Kind of a po' persons Leona Helmsley. Gimme Phyllis Diller, anytime.

^I don't think she cared either way...money and fame of any kind is the appeal for most in entertainment or what goes for it these days.

Dead is dead, let em lie. No need to slag now. Anyone know her personally? thought so, none.

Public personality is most often not these peoples private personality. Perhaps she was a b@#$%, but you'll never really know for sure. More media whores attracted the more you earn. she knew how to attract attention.

    R.I.P. old gal...

Joan Rivers’ Air Supply Cut Off From Unexpected Throat Biopsy (Report)
    https://tv.yahoo.com/news/joan-river...022500055.html

She didn't sign off on the Biopsy.

The procedure is one that should not be conducted outside of a hospital, according to medical experts who spoke with the New York Daily News. Rivers underwent the procedure at Yorkville Endoscopy in New York, which generally deals with digestive issues.

The biopsy caused the “Fashion Police” star's vocal cords to seize, known as laryngospasm
. The medical source told the paper that had this procedure been done in a hospital, Rivers may have survived. The source further alleges that Rivers had only signed off on an endoscopy.

    https://celebrity.yahoo.com/news/joa...us-weekly.html

When the doctor performing the endoscopy found "something" on the late star's vocal cords, another doctor, whom Rivers reportedly brought with her and didn't work for Yorkville Endoscopy, "asked if he could use their instruments" to perform an unplanned throat biopsy, the paper reports.

The New York Daily News added that Rivers had agreed to the endoscopy, but not the biopsy, and that it was "a huge no-no" for Yorkville Endoscopy to allow the outside doctor to perform the spur-of-the-moment operation.

During the biopsy, the television personality reportedly suffered the vocal cord contraction laryngospasm, which stopped her breathing. Sources told the Daily News that if the biopsy had been done in a hospital, which is better equipped to deal with unexpected outcomes, "she might have been okay."
