Neo, LH, LH, LH!!!
Stop showing me nice guitars and stuff I cannot get! Do you know what it's like walking into a guitar shop, seeing some great stuff then being pointed to the left-handed rack to see a Squire Fender and an RG copy... :(

bettyboo....good luck on your 'nth try.
your story sounds familiar. (i've ownwd 4)
i know i'll never play, but i hope i read one day here that you can.
Thanks Mr Trash.
I've realized that the problem in the past has been that I've gone too cheap; you can't learn on crap products (ahem...). Thus, today I looked at:
http://images.epiphone.com.s3.amazon...PlusPRO_HS.jpg
Just waiting to see if they can get hold of a left-hander for the money advertised (388,000 won).
If so, I'll match it with one of these:

Should be playing very well within the next few weeks... :)
Actually, I really liked the G400 Pro (below), the weight felt good, the size felt good, it felt really nice indeedt, but at 540,000 won, it's not good value at all...

Funny thing is Neo, I've never considered an SG before, but I tried one today, and it felt really good - just expensive...Quote:

The Yam112, if I could find one cheap, would be a good buy.
Here in Kimchi, you can get a Cort G250 which is cheap and good; under 200 squids, but they are equal to midrange Squires (cause they make 'em for Fender, and make their own better at each pricepoint...).
I really like the G400 pro from Epiphone, but getting one at the right price here in Kimchi is tricky. I want one for under 400,000 won, found one today for 540,000 won - not worth it at that price... :(

They come in a wonderful range of colours, if you like Cherry (which I do, rather...).
I could play that baby, I'm SURE of it. F-A-C-T. This is the turning point...
The Shifters will ride again!

That is niiice.! easy to handle cos of the body shape.
Worth the extra money for the make, it'll still be worth money when you get bored of looking at it :D
Cort guitars are made in South Korea. They're a really good guitar.
If I was after a mid price with good quality and set up I'd be looking at them.

Got to be cheap out there Cort Guitars
^ yes, but they only do strat copies in LH... Cheap though...
Here we go, this is a LH, same spec as the epiphone, better range of colours, comes with a bag and the little bits and pieces for 448,000 won which is abouuuuuuuut 15,000 baht, so 300 squids. Not as cheap as I'd like, but might be the go'er (still prefer an SG style at this price but the epiphones have upgraded on their only available LH version, 540,000 - too much.

????? ???
SG then I'd say... massive sustain and stability with the LP, but the SG more comfortable to play. :dunno:
I love the PRS look.. something like this would be my next wet dream I reckon.

Too much money though. Yeah I know.. RH.!
I'm getting an airwheel.
^ & ^^ Hmmm, I wrote nice replies to youse, but the farkin computa fukin farcked up... :(
Here's a great site I found, if you're in Korea, can't speak Korean, and want a guitar:
???? - ???? 1? ????? ???,??????,????,????,????,?????,???,?????,???,??,? ??,??,?????,??,??,??,??
13,000 baht for:

Comes in White and Wine (which I fancy).
Can't see the picture.. :dunno:
Nice... what's that £280..? Good price man. Betty's gonna ROCK.! :D
Got a new amp. Narrowed it down to two:

Vox AC30.
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2014/11/700.jpg
Fender TWIN.
In the end, I decided to go for the Twin because it was half the price of the AC30.

only 17.99 on Amazon special offers! The AC30 was 35 squids.

I've also decided that I want something like this:
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2014/11/701.jpg
But, not at that price. So, ordered these instead:
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2014/11/702.jpg
34.99 for the set - get good reviews and at a third of the price of the Seymour Duncan Slash-Pro that they are 'based' upon.
&, I'm looking at these:
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2014/11/703.jpg
Then I will pick up a cheap Epiphone SG or LP that looks and feels nice in me hand and get the shop to whack the pickups and tuners on while doing a setup - jobs a good un... :)
I might, if I improve my playing, splash out and get a second generation AC30 with reverb!
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2014/11/704.jpg
Down the line, perhaps one of these:
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2014/11/705.jpg
Apparently they are clever little bits of kit, but can you actually play anything yet Betty..? :D
This is an essential item if you're going to be smashing it out... can also add a little refinement to those mellow moments.
https://teakdoor.com/images/smilies1/You_Rock_Emoticon.gif
The 'attack' will stop the notes getting muddy when you're rockin' or add a little emphasis when you're pickin.
The 'sustain' will stop the the notes ringing or add a bell sound to the reverb.
Tone and level are self explanatory.
It's not a replacement for your own strumming/picking technique but it does add a professional layer to your sound.
^ I like compression because it helps to iron out my shiteness... :)
Having said that, I haven't got a guitar here in Korea yet, and even if I had one I wouldn't be able to 'play it'.
I did buy some of these too (very cheap on amazon), so when plugged into the 'Fender Twin', everything will sound great (or would if I had a guitar).
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2014/11/712.jpg
I'm fully kitted out, but as you suggest, I should start to get some pedals too... :)
I used to have one of these Korg PX-3
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2014/11/714.jpg
You plug in and use headphones, or with an amp. About the size of a Walkman.
It was useful, though not as practical as twiddling dials on a pedal, and with power lead, headphone lead, and cable got a bit awkward.. can use batteries of course, but that also can be a pain. Perhaps they have a rechargeable one by now. Great though if you don't want to disturb the neighbours.
^ nice, but fidly little fuker and it doesn't say 'ROCK!' to me... :)
Spent all weekend searching out stuff, so once the pickups arrive, I'll get some Gotoh tuners, a bridge and saddle (not yet, as I'm not sure of the exact fit) to go with one of these:
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2014/12/4.jpg
http://www.espguitars.com/products/9...3292-ec-series
The best of all worlds because it'll be quite light and easy to handle like an SG, look sexy like a LP, and with the Wilkinson zeebras and Gotoh bits its gonna be a lovely guitar to play.
Bit of a fuker getting one in Korea in LH, so currently chatting with a German and Yank reseller to see who can best get it to me. :)
If.... I can't get hold of one and dither (as I tend to do) then the zeebras will go into the Ibanez, I'll hardtail it (or stick the Gotoh saddle/bridge), put on decent tuners and paint the bastard Pelham Blue!!! I want to rock and I want beauty and I want it to be mine! Then, I'll try to play it... :)
