Jackson Browne,a prolific writer who wrote for people like Zevon,Ronstadt and the Eagles.
I'd give my left nipple to see them live as an outfit. I've see Dennis solo a couple of times over the years and he's still as cool and funny as fuck. I was too young to see them as a band but I've grown up listening to them.
hows about Burt Bacharach and Hal david :
"Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head"
"I'll Never Fall in Love Again"
"Do You Know the Way to San Jose"
"Walk On By"
"I Say a Little Prayer"
"What's New Pussycat?"

Anak, i know means son but the rest of his song is meshed with cocks crowing and just a brilliant sound, i still play this song today 30 yrs. on, it hasn't aged.
^ I had to search for the song after your post and was surprised I have heard the song many times.
Loy, ^ Sabang thankfully bought this beautiful song out today so no credit from me mate.
Tod Rungren was considered the new messiah songwriter when he hit the music scene and he wrote some great songs.
Another bloke who wrote some great music is actually accompanying Rungren singing one of his early hits.
Amazing that noone has mentioned Jagger/Richards yet
Thanks; you might be civilized guys after all
On the other hand I'll get some flack for me bringing Bruce up
I like Zeppelin too, you know !
Although I wasn't a big Springsteen fan he did write some great songs one for the Pointer Sisters if my memory serves me well.Originally Posted by helge

That album by Springsteen is right up there - 30 years ago and still sounds superb.
Got a job working construction in a Johnstown company but lately there aint been much work of the economy......
Bruce all ways gave a full days work in Concert
ROSIE ; COME OUT TONIGHT

so I'll introduce
Alanis Morissette
recommend getting your heart trampled on to anyone
I recommend walking around naked in your living room
Swallow it down (what a jagged little pill)
It feels so good (swimming in your stomach)
Wait until the dust settles
lovely lyrics there, and here too
how bout getting off these antibiotics
how bout stopping eating when I'm full up
how bout them transparent dangling carrots
how bout that ever elusive kudos
How about an 8-lines of lyrics, with a brilliant guitarist, song ?
Simple
^^ Lovely voice. Got a lot of stick for writing a song called 'Ironic' all about irony whilst clearly not having a clue what irony was.
"Isn't it ironic, don't you think....." No I fecking don't!!!
Jagged Little Pill was one of my favourite albums of the 90's.
This song was great with Flea on bass on the studio version.
Tom Morello from RATM.
The Night Watchman.
Best guitar solo ever was when he guested with Bruce Springstten on ' The Ghost Tom Joad'.
Morello must be up with the best ever solo guitarists.
They were greatOriginally Posted by crocman
Stripped on stage once here in DK, and got famous
Was a cold day as far as I remember
Could some kind poster stick this song into our machine ?Originally Posted by dobella
Helge, i gather you like both these artists but together this one powerful song the guitar solo by Tom Morello needs to be seen to be believed.
If i am intrusive to you the i stand corrective but i think many folk would love to enjoy this genius at work.
I cannot cut and paste. total computer dummy i am.
