Scratch Repair

I have a Canon G10 and have just notice quite a deep scratch on the lens which is visible on photos. Can it be polished or will it need to be changed. It's not just a surface scratch as i can feel it when i touch it.

These lenses are usually 'coated' and that is what gets scratched. Sometimes can be done at a good opticians suppliers

OK, i'll take it in. I was thinking of reporting lost or stolen to upgrade, but that's naughty.
