    My Space - WTF?

    I have heard a lot about this MySpace.com - and I'm not sure what the point of it is.

    I want to start a website where I can showcase my movies, store photos and my written work for family and friends to view if they please.

    All I can see so far is that its a place for people to say...

    Who gives a fuck?

    I tried the Mac application i-web but that was just more self promotion for Apple this and Apple that.

    I tried MSN spaces last year for my newspaper articles but they were listed in blog format.

    I can't get no satisfaction.

    Answer: Make your own website. Get a free template from somebody else, and then experiment with the format until it works for you.

    Hosting is not very expensive either. Ask Dirty Dog, I think Teakdoor offers hosting services.

    Myspace is alright for previewing songs and artists. As a community for other people than musicians it is pretty useless.

    I think it'll be worthwhile for people like yourself Scamp not just coz you can promote your work but you can find like minded people to work with. End of the day despite your concepts and abilities you are a one man show and it's gonna be hard work getting a body of work together. You can get involved with the film making community in your country (still in the Phillys?) and I'm sure it'd help you source editors, script writers, actors, subjects etc.

    Defo worth a try coz it don't cost you fuck all and if it doesn't work out for you only ever wasted a bit of time.
