Another file sharing Bit Torrent option

Not sure if anyone will find this useful but here goes

    VIPeers - Welcome!

VIPeers is similar to sites like Rapidshare and Megaupload where you can upload a file to their server and it can be downloaded by HTTP.

The difference with this site is it has the option of either direct downloading through the browser (HTTP) or via Bit Torrent and it has an upload limit per file of 5GB. Its an easy way of seeding a file, very simple to set up for torrents if you have a rare movie, album or something you want to share with someone. They take care of the creation of the torrent file and the tracker, very simple.

After the file has uploaded it takes you to a page with the share options such as HTTP or Bit Torrent along with other options.

If you choose Bit Torrent you need to right click the torrent link and copy the link location. This is how to send the link to the recipient to download the torrent file.

I did a test upload of an MP3

This is in BETA and is not the finished product so there may be glitches or changes but if you want to sign up and have a look use this code on the sign up page as its invite only at the mo unless you use the code.

One thing Ive noticed is after youve uploaded a file and gone on to the download options bit if you close the downloads option window there doesnt seem to be a way of opening it again. Theres no record or history of files youve uploaded so if that window gets closed you need to upload again, you cant save the webpage so it looks like having a folder of bookmarks for stuff thats been uploaded.

Did you just want to play around with it or would it be something you could make use of?

The Zapr one looks like another way of using DC++ to me, pretty similar apart from it being browser based.

[ file ai ] - Securely Share Files Too Big To E-mail For Free

Apparently the difference with this is as soon as you start to upload the receiver can download.
