It is not too far fetched to believe that repression through financial disparity has been a long term goal. The concentration of wealth and the leveraging of capital in parallel with the politicisation of law enforcement had the inevitable conclusion that we are witnessing now.

The two are mutually exclusive in America at this time. The money must be removed from politics and the political spectrum must be widened or nothing will change.

No loans here, Boonme. Everyone needs to play a part in reducing the debt. I know you are a Republican so you believe in big deficits and debt as that's what you party has always created. The spending needs to be reduced. Stopping so much foreign aid and stopping the constant wars would help.Cutting off US government benefits to those who live abroad is a positive step as it keeps money at home and it will encourage domestic growth. Americans should see America as their final destination not a place to get rich and then turn traitor like yourself. How many people living in America from other countries are feeding off the tits of their home countries. My guess is not many. America has become unaffordable for many. Lots of retired individuals who can't afford to live there choose places like Thailand instead of living in their kid's basement.
You are really out to lunch there Hampsha. What's with the "Americans should see America as their final destination" thing, huh? Are you forgetting 'Merkins continue to be obligated for Federal Tax on their worldwide income? Did you forget that bit? Obviously you did.

"Turn traitor" - I love that one too. If we didn't know better, your little rant here could be passed off as a lame Troll...

The teabaggers could never sustain this type of movement. I hate the comparison. The teabaggers are funded and created by the koch brothers. It is a fake movement pushed by fuax news.

This fee on debit cards is one of the things OWS has been protesting.

After outcry, Wells Fargo, Chase, Bank of America back off on debit card fees
Banks wanted to charge up to $5

Weeks after Bank of America shocked consumers by announcing they would impose a $5 fee on debit card users, two of the country's biggest banks said Saturday that they would not follow suit, the Associated Press reported on Friday.

Chase and Wells Fargo said they would stop their pilot fee testing programs, sources told the AP.

Bank of America also said it would offer ways for customers to avoid the fee.

But the announcement may be too late to recover from the public relations disaster that Bank of America's original plan had caused.

"People are literally walking into branches and cutting up their Bank of America cards," Kirk Kordeleski, CEO of Bethpage Federal Credit Union in Long Island, N.Y., told the AP last week.

Illinois senator Dick Durbin called the proposed fees a "outrage."

"It is hard to believe that a bank would impose such a fee on loyal customers who simply are trying to access their own money on deposit," he said. "Especially when Bank of America for years has been encouraging their customers to use debit cards as much as possible."

Occupy movements across the country used the bank fees as a rallying call as well. Several sponsored national Bank Transfer Days, where protesters were encouraged to switch from corporate banks to no-fee credit unions.

"the banking system is fully corrupt and defrauding us..."

That's the point. Actually, it goes beyond (as stated) the banking system into congress and corporate America, it's a big problem to solve...

^ well, some on this thread disagree.

It all seems very obvious, as you indicate, but there's so much denial and misinformation...

Plus, it's a very similar situation in the Uk and France and beyond. Who's challenging that? The UK taxpayers seemed to have forgotten what went on over the last couple of years and 'accepted' their lot...

What's the big deal here? If you don't like a business' practices then don't patronize them. Easy enough, just like this:

BofA is one of the few companies that I have a personal boycott on anyways so I don't give a rat's ass what they do. There are so many other alternatives out there that it makes me wonder why anyone would do business with them at all.

"If they really want a bright future for this country, it's capitalism that will provide it, not government."

That's what Peter Schiff told Princeton University Professor Cornell West last night in a heated debate on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360. They were discussing Schiff's recent Reason.tv appearance, in which he engaged protestors at Occupy Wall Street with a sign that read, "I Am the 1%, Let's Talk." Air Date: October 27, 2011.

Schiff would be better off explaining calculus to squirrels.

    ^^

Three of these videos Boon Mee has posted several times.

It has already been pointed out, but here goes again.

The black man with the anti-Jewish board has been a fixture of NYC for years and has must moved his location to the protests.

The young man, Lotion Man, giving the old man a hard time is also Jewish and a long time fixture of NYC.

Yes, we know but the list included those you mentioned - kinda all-inclusive. Apologies for the repeats although I take exception that they have been "posted several times before"

    Any comment on the violence?

Capitalism is not when the "too big to fall" private companies debts are handed over to the population and the profits are handed over to the shareholders.

Occupy Oakland grows in the wake of police violence

The action left dozens of protesters injured and put a former Marine in the hospital with critical injuries.

Protesters say the violence that night only emboldened their cause and they plan to continue to multiply their numbers.

Since that violent encounter, people have been arriving from all over the state to support the Oakland movement.

Peter Schiff is really stupid if he thinks that capitalism created child labor laws and weekends. That's total BS. I respect the guy in some ways but he really just doesn't get it. He only knows that with money in his pocket he gets what he wants. Very few people like him ever hit rock bottom again so he will never see it from the other side.

Boonme, you look like that guy. I know you do because he looks like a redneck that came out of your mom's anus.

Here's three good tips to become a self-reliant mooch. We're sure you can do your best here Hampsha!

It's a good day when anyone learns something about human nature — no matter how late in the game.

    (1) Hand out free stuff and ever increasing number of moochers will come.
    (2) There are “professional homeless people.”
    (3) Those sanctimoniously protesting the greed of others fight as hard as anyone to keep their own special privileges even if those are just organic beet salad with goat cheese.
