Pupils 'frogmarched by teachers to have fingerprints taken' so they could eat in cant

The majority of UK parents are so damn naive they don't realise what they are giving up. UK has gone far beyond ridiculous. They should demand to have thier children taken off the data base!

    ---------

A school has provoked uproar after taking children's fingerprints without permission
    from their parents.
Pupils were 'frogmarched' to be fingerprinted so they could use touch screens in the canteen to have money deducted from their account, thereby speeding up lunch queues.

Capital City Academy in Brent, north London, was later forced to apologise and wiped all prints it obtained before asking for consent.

As many as 3,500 schools are using fingerprint technology in administrative tasks such as pupils' borrowing library books or buying canteen lunches

It also introduced an opt-out for parents uncomfortable with the technology, allowing pupils to enter a four-digit pin code instead of scanning their print.

Wouldn't speed it up, anyway, it would slow it down. We use fingerprint scanners to clock in & out of my place of work. I spend about 5 minutes a day standing there, adjusting the position of my finger while the bloody thing squawks "Please try again" at me. Virtually everyone has to try 3-5 times before the sodding thing will accept their print.

Try this finger position. Might work best and if not you'll feel the better for it.

Aaaah. No wonder my solution of saying increasingly rude things to it wasn't working. Thanks, Norts. Will try that.

This is much the same as school uniforms; anyone who cannot see the danger is allowing this, much like anyone who thinks the Government has the right to tell children what to wear to school is not fit to be an educator.
