I'm quite happy for the Muslims to be in the UK. Only the born and bred UK ones though. I don't want their families coming to join them or the refugees or immigrants from other countries.

there was a proposal that any family member that comes to the UK to visit that requires a visa the family should pay a deposit. I think it was only a thousand quid.

I would recommend 10,000 quid and that would sort a lot of problems out.

Something along the lines of: if your intent is to come live in our country and remain a citizen of somewhere else, don't bother coming, you're not welcome. If you're willing to come live in this (our) country and abide by our laws and become an Australian citizen, respecting us as we respect you, we welcome you.

I wish the US could implement some of his ideas.

Huckabee, a republican pres candidate launched a bit of a bomb yesterday saying birthright in US should be abolished. (If you're born on American soil, you are automatically an American -- if you chose that over your parent's nationality)

Interestingly, I've heard Chinese have a difficult time assimilating in foreign countries too. Nobody makes too much of a fuss about that, maybe because they don't have a histroy of strapping fireworks to their waists and setting them off in crowded markets.
