'Angel' asylum worker stabbed to death at CHILD migrant centre as boy, 15, is arrested for alleged murder

A REFUGEE boy of 15 has been arrested after a woman was stabbed to death in a frenzied attack at a shelter for migrant children.

Alexandra Mezher, 22, was described as an 'angel' by devastated family members after she was killed at the centre where she had worked for only a few months.

She was taken to hospital after the attack but later died of her injuries in Molndal, Sweden.

It comes as the country's police call for greater resources to stem the rising tide of violence linked to the migrant crisis.

Several young girls claim they have been sexually assaulted by asylum seekers at a public swimming pool in the capital Stockholm, while cops have warned the city's main train station is "overrun" by gangs of young, male migrants who are "groping" women and stealing.

Alexandra's family, who are originally from Lebanon, blamed the country's politicians for her death.

Her cousin said: "It is so terrible. She was a person who wanted to do good, who wanted to be good.

"And then he murdered her when she was doing her job. We have cried a lot. She was such a nice person, warm and happy.

"It is the Swedish politicians' fault that she is dead."

Alexandra was attacked at around 8am at the shelter for kids aged between 14 and 17 on Sweden's west coast.

Sources said the 15-year-old suspect was held down by other employees until police arrived.

Officers discovered a knife at the scene and cordoned off the area as they launched a murder probe.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven was due to visit the area later today.

Police spokesman Thomas Fuxborg said the attacker was living at the centre and confirmed he had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

He did not give any details about the suspect's nationality and added the motive was not immediately clear.

Mr Fuxborg said: "These kinds of calls are becoming more and more common.

"We're dealing with more incidents like these since the arrival of so many more refugees from abroad."
