Coranation Streets Kevin Webster charged with 19 sex offences

Some time ago he was charged and I believe at the time the charges were quashed due to insufficent evidence ,,, seems like some new info has now come to light and its all back on .

I bet he thought he had seen the back of it ,, not looking good IF what is being alleged is proved , I doubt fellow inmates will take kindly to a celebrity nonce .

    Again I say IF .

What kind of person would pick a surname like le vell for thier stage name, his real name is Turner.
I have not watched it since the 1980's, he had a moustache last time i saw it

There was another actor Peter Adamson who played Len Fairclough, got accused of touching girls in a swimming pool in 1983, was acquitted, but sacked by the show and died penilless while living on welfare, in 2002

Seems strange one dont it ,,, its not really important in the scale of things but it grinds with me people who want to change with what they are given at birth .

I think he used to be some kind of icon for the queer fraternity when he had that tach

I wouldn't buy tyres from his garage, they're bald and barely legal.

His defence was that he thought the girl had sprung a leak and was drowning, so he inserted his finger into her vagina to plug the leak.

Steve is looking at a car outside Kevin Websters garage.
He shouts to his mate Dave, 'Has this speedo been clocked'

Dave shouts back, "Has he, the police have got him on 19 charges"

Back on a more serious note, it bothers me that in the UK (and maybe elsewhere, i don't know), in cases like this the accused is publicly named. If convicted then fair enough, throw the book at him, but whatever the outcome of the trial the guy is finished.
    Doesn't seem right to me

The latest thing in kiddies' swimwear at the time: Len Fairclough's fingers.

How else could it be? Accused and tried by the state in secret?
    That don't sound like fun.

What with the Saville frenzy still going on here every week the police are naming more and more , as you rightly point out once named as ( accused ) its gotta stick somewhere.

There must be a whole lot more out there sweating at the moment as the police are having a right old purge

Obviously since the "Saville" revelations the bar of probability has been lowered so that these complaints are taken more seriously. Once the finger is pointed you will never be innocent anymore.

    True.

Furthermore, none the allegations made against Sir Jimmy in the voluminous report recently published would amount to 'evidence' as a Court would know it. Nor is there any attempt at corroboration.

The bar has come down very low, inversely proportional to the amount of stigma being generated.

Stuart Hall, Dave Lee Travis, Freddie Starr - all of them have been tarred publicly with this, and their guilt hasn't even been established.

Not sure if female nonces get named and shamed before trial or not ?

I know of someone who was completely exhonnorated later on after the police did an early morning raid after false info was given .

Poor bugger had to move away , and allthough his wife stood by him , things are just not the same between them .

Kevin Webster was talking to his mate about kids,

"It's ok looking after other peoples kids" he said
"Why, because you can give them back?"

"No" says Kev, "because it's not incest"
