Nonsense. It was nothing more than a carnival trick of no importance other than the demonstration of ballistics.

The detonation of the A bomb at Los Alamos was by far the single most significant event of the 20th Century. That and the internet, TV, the biro, the Jumbo jet and the domestic refridgerator.

    This.

All sorts of horrible things happened in the 20th century but going from the first powered flight to a human walking on the moon within 70 years is amazing.

Armstrong (and Gagarin) have rightfully earned their place in the history books.

Yet, the sun is setting on the instigator.

A vivid memory for me as a young boy and I am glad I was around to witness the event.

Neil Armstrong was a member of a great team.

    RIP.
