    Austria in December (Buying Clothing?)

Before I go and fork out on clothing in Thailand for Austria, has anyone been or know if it is cheaper to buy once there? We are going for the Christmas period and will need kids clothing too.

No plans to go Skiing btw.

Platinum Mall at Pratunam will have everything you need.

Mention the place to the missus and she will probably know about it.

Cheap winter clothing (including scarfs, hats, gloves and socks), but don't expect branded stuff like North Face, Rockport and Timberland to see you through the winter months.
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

You'll pay more for genuine quality gear in Bangkok

MBK and Pratunam are good if you wanna look like a family of council tenants.

Besides, nothing like fitting in soon as you touch down.

^^ Dillinger's post seconded....Quality gear is more expensive in BKK.

Plenty of good gear in Austria when you get there and weather has been unseasonably warm at times in the last couple of years.

I live not too far away and visit Vienna and Innsbruck most years November -> March

Go to the export shops in the malls for you - they are seconds outlets of stuff sold abroad and it is cheap. they have it all from big thick winter coats, and all the stuff in between. A bit hit and miss, but for a short trip you can't go wrong. For the wife and kids Uniqlo

Before we moved to Europe, we took a chance and decked the missus out in their winter clothes and to be fair, they are excellent. The wife still prefers the stuff she bought there to stuff double the price she gets in Europe. I would highly recommend it
