Advice on improving my dogs' smell

I have 2 thai dogs about a year old.......great friends, and a constant source of fun....BUT......they like to eat and roll around in buffalo poop. They smell like a buffalo!!! What can i spray on them so my wifey and i can get close to them? I can't shampoo them every day (not healthy), and when i do it's a matter of minutes before they find another good source of "thai dog deodorant".
I can't wear this clothes pin on my nose forever. Help.....PLEASE!!!!

Take them to the beach or river for swimming.

spray every lump of poop in the area with an aromatic fragrance or kill all the buffalos or kill the dogs or KILL EVERYBODY IN THE WHOLE WORLD...

Any of the above should do the job.

Other than that, train the dogs not to roll in the shit. I know they love it...dogs smell somet rotten or rancid and the have the over whelming urge to roll arounf near or on it...weirdo's.

You could roll in Buffalo poo yourself, then you won't mind the aroma ...

Used to have the same problem with our Aussie Blue Cattle Dogs. Always rolling in cow shit or something dead. Didn't seem to happen with other breeds of dogs around the place, mainly just the Bluies.
Blue Cattle Dogs are about 50% Dingo back in their breed make up. And the Dingo is in fact the Asian Wild Dog and not really native to Australia.
I see a lot of dogs in Thailand that are quite obviously domesticated versions of the Asian Wild Dog and crossbreeds of them. And I am pretty sure the poop fetish is strongly linked to the breed. It may well be an instingtive thing with the dogs wanting to disguise their scent when stalking prey animals.

I seriously doubt you are going to be able to stop your dogs from following their instincts.

Do your dogs look like this pic below?

Pandas spot on there, your only hope is to work with them to train them not to do it but they love it. Having a fenced yard is a good idea for a number of reasons.

Yeah..Panda that's my dog's picture.....except his tail isn't bushy. The WD40 covers up the smell quite well.

I had a Beagle when I was a kid and in the spring there were dead deer and other animals around that were winter kill and that little bastard was an awful mess if he could find something dead to roll in.
But isn't WD40 a sort of petrolium product and won't that be kind of toxic to spray and leave on skin?

That would be OK then, but kinda spendy compared to a cheap Nam Pla that would work.
Flic your BIC and spray some WD40 across the flame and see what you think.

Your 'source' is an anonymous email spread by chain-mail, and powered by the gullibility of people that fall for the hoax.

    Here's your 'source':

snopes.com: Uses for WD-40 Spray Lubricant

As for the claim the "basic ingredient" in WD-40 is "fish oil," it's a common rumor and one that is easily propagated (because cans of WD-40 spray include no ingredients list), but a glance at the composition information included in the Material Safety Data Sheet (http://www.wd40.com.au/msds/ChemWatc...40_Aerosol.pdf) for WD-40 aerosol indicates the product is primarily petroleum-based, with the main ingredient being (Household Products Database - Health and Safety Information on Household Products) solvent naptha, petroleum, medium aliphatic (also known as ATSDR - ToxFAQs™: Stoddard Solvent )

    - solvent naphtha petroleum, medium aliphatic, > 60%
    - petroleum base oil as paraffinic distillate, heavy, solvent-dewaxed (severe),15% to 25%
    - corrosion inhibitor unregulated,1% to 10%
    - wetting agent unregulated, 1% to 10%
    - fragrance unregulated, 0% to 1%
    - carbon dioxide, 2% to 3%

It's a pure PETROLEUM PRODUCT (basic ingredients are the equivalent of kerosene), and it *WILL* harm your dogs' skin relatively quickly.

It never ceases to amaze me how people fall for these idiotic email chain mails, but it happens all of the time -- seriously, do you believe the high-ranking government official who promises to split millions of illicit funds with you as well?

I used to have a little Cairn Terrier and her favourite pastime was rolling in fox shit, could never train it out of her, did it from a pup until the day she croaked.

As for Buffalo/Cow shit she liked that as well, but only for eating.

English Fox crap has the consitency of oil/tar and smells unlike anything you have ever smelled before, it has you gagging when you try to clean it off.

My 2 year old Shar Pei bitch on the other hand wont roll on anything other than damp bath towels left on the bathroom floor, but this appears more sexual than anything else.

    Landlubber.

Dogs already smell 500 times better than humans. How can you improve it?

Shoot the dogs, have them stuffed by a qualified taxidermist, spray with an odour / aroma acceptable to yourself. Job done.

PLUS - No more vet's fees, no feeding costs and can be stationed outside your premises as constant guard dogs [ a repeating tape recording of ferocious / vicious snarling stuffed up their arse will also inhibit most thieves].

Best thing for removing fox shit smell, and a lot of other odours, from dogs is a little Tomato Ketchup rubbed well in then rinsed off.Works a treat, and the dog smells great too.
