Your thoughts, yet brash, are realistic. We've all witnessed the on again and off again changes and modifications of long-term visa regulations over the years {most certainly the last 5} and what it really gets down to is that this foolish manner the authorities seemingly want to shoot themselves in the foot. The bottom line is that the true everyday resident Farang create a base of foreign income and assorted business' for the society/country. Probably more important of a foundation than the short-term tourist sector and the occassional back-and-forth wannabe. The "O", "A", and "B" visa-holders are residents - the circle of strict regulations regarding these types of visas have not changed dramatically. All the other assorted visas and their "change-their-policy" every other month restrictions don't really effect us that much. Even though there might be a cloud of uncertainty surrounding the resident long-term visa situation - this does them a great disservice to us whom contribute to the contries wealth and whatnot.

Previous visa rules used a 400K baht in the bank or the equivalent in joint income. Plus, the bank account had to be in a JOINT ACCOUNT..see...it proved you were married!
Now the goalposts have moved, nobody's cheating the system, now they completely disregard any income you have here (jointly or alone) all they want to see is 400K in the FARANGS name...it stinks, surely someone of even moderate intelligence can understand this, frankly, if you can find a five year old spastic, he probably can explain to you..you obviously are incapable of any rational thought on your own!

I undersrand missis' gripe....there was nothing to hide , just the recent Thai immigration movement of the goal posts meant that everyone who had set up a company in joint names and sorting a 40k baht a month income for the wife in order to qualify for a 1 year non O extension, and all the entire time, energy and cost that entailed were left hanging. No hiding, just playing the system as many of us have to do, not out of love for this place, but for our children.....now that company set up thing is bollocks..

I don't have any business in my wifes name, I am merely sating the point that MANY people invested here, and couldn't legally use their own name for the business, they bought bars, put them in the wifes name, and then could use the JOINT income to apply for the visa..is that so difficult to comprehend?
