Damn!
Damn!
It was a sad day today. Lots of colleagues took the day off, couldn't get through to friends and fams in NY. I was disappointed that Obama/McCain/Cindy were occasionally joking on their walk down to ground zero. And where was Michelle? I also got angry when Obama threw his rose down. Man, show some respect. At least McC and Cindy bent down to place their flowers. Small gestures mean alot to me.
Well done, cujo, one whole sentence without insults . . . well, at least no cussin' Jethro.
How's the banjo playing going for you? Find the perfect whitener for those white sheets?
Hey, I heard that .............. must be true, thought I'd share . . .
Anyway, this is deviating from the topic a bit too much.

Apologies.
I think Cujo is taking the p*ss, as they say.
The Jewish call in sick on 9/11 has been debunked over and over.
But in the Middle East and even Indonesia I've seen people interviewed on the street repeat the myth.
Nah, I would give credit where credit is due, he thought this a worthwhile addition to the conversation . . . only when he was called up for it did he say he thought it was a crock.
Guess what, though? People in Indonesia and the Middle East reading his post would have believed him . . .
Driving Force - glad to hear your former ex sis-in-law didn't make it to work.

Tangent again . . . I'll stop
I watched about 15 hours of TV coverage of the event. It wasn't terrorism. We'd all seen buildings full of people getting bombed during Desert Storm.... Then it was a bomb going down a chimney and bombastic quaffed anchors grinning and boasting about the high tech murder.
^ Sadly true.
What does anyone know about the woman who pretended to be a survivor from the 78th floor?
I also had friends or friends of friends who went through that atrocity. And me, just a person who watched as all those planes went through. A movie? Yes - but only for about 5 seconds.
The worst for me was the - what we called here in Switzerland - the "commas" - it was the people who jumped because they knew there was no way out. And there was a lot of them, they were brave to do that.
So all of you potential pattaya jumpers - you are nothing compared to those people who had no choice. Think again.
sadly some people see it that way and who is anyone else to judge that..Originally Posted by patsycat

thanks for ruining a good thread with your mindless editorial..I doubt the people of Kuwait see it in that light.. and JFYI that was a world solution mandated by the UN and not just the US so get your facts straight before you post such mindless trash..Originally Posted by mad_dog

I remember reading about the first 9/11-related divorce. Married man stays the night with his chippie, calls in to take a sick day. Goes back to bed. Finally answers his cell about noon. His wife says, "Where are you?" He says, "At the office." She says, "Oh, ya? You better turn on the tv. Your office building just collapsed."
Chippie? Carpenter, right? So he was gay as well, or was she a chippie chic?

I was just making the point that when buildings are bombed people die. Whether it is a jet plane or a hi tech missile the effects are the same. The triumphalism of the American public when their "smart bombs" killed Iraqis and destroyed Iraqi infrastructure was just a salient example. "CNN's war" was an interesting insite into the American psyche. There was no link between Iraq and the 9/11 attackers if you are still buying that bullshit then you are truely delusional.
They champion falsehood, support the butcher against the victim, the oppressor against the innocent child. May God mete them the punishment they deserve
Who is it that you despise, Islamic terrorists killing the innocent as policy, or Americans killing the innocent as policy?
I could give you more examples of the former than your tastebuds could cope with on a good day, if you'd care to start the ball rolling with the latter.
And perlease don't waste bandwidth blaming the djoogits, we all know they're responsible for everything bad on the planet. Isn't that so?
Just seems to me if your house were on fire you would blame the person who called the fire brigade, not the arsonist.
Settle down, there Keda. All doggie was saying is if you're an innocent who gets killed, it doesn't much matter whether it was a terrorist with a bomb or a B-2 pilot with a smart missile. You're still dead and it wasn't your fault.Originally Posted by keda
It certainly wouldn't make any difference to me . . . dead is dead, murdered is murdered. Perhaps if some people would see that there is a reasonable gripe to deal with, the situation would become clearer, instead of being self-righteous and and having the infamous 'for me or against me' mentality.Originally Posted by benbaaa

what i take exception to is that his entire premise based on why we got bombed as being that we 'intervene' in world disorder to try to smooth the edges.. we did not attack iraq first they were the aggressor on a sovereign nation being kuwait and without provocation, we just intervened with the rest of the world community..Originally Posted by panama hat
His premise is that it was that type of action on our parts that made us a valid target and I dispute that claim.. we were just one of many that enforced the world communities laws as laid down by the UN..
bottom line is we got bombed for any 'interfering' (as it's seen by Al qaeda) in muslim countries, laws and "violating" holy land as xtians even though we have always been invited for the most part and they take exception to that...and his post seems to support their thinking..
