Thai Police seizing home computers

Now this warning came from my girlfriend, seems that the thai police are willing to confiscate anybodys pcs, she doesn't really understand my involvement with TD as I have never bothered explaining that and other shite to her but she has been giving me warnings, seems a lot of Thai police like confiscating internet cafes pcs and getting a bit of money, but they also like the farang pcs, got a bit of porn on there then your foked.

You can buy a usb pen with a preloaded browser to run all your web apps, surf and store porn, leaving the PC 'clean'.

Seems like Thailand's laws have been designed to make everyone guilty of something at all times. I'm sure that the police could walk into anyone's house and find something wrong or illegal be it pirated DVDs, a pirated song, porn, something not up to some sort of building code, who knows it might even be illegal for an unmarried Thai woman to live with a foreigner under some old law whihc hasn't been changed. If they want to bring you in they will always have some sort or reason which may or may not stick.

I would guess since some anti-government websites have been blocked now they could use that as an excuse.

Hell i am using my 15 years old sons pc, should i go through his browsing history? I can imagine the stuff he has been looking at, and it aint gonna be disney films, its gonna be cum coverered girls or something along those lines, should a farang father be arrested due to his perverted sons surfing habits?

What i have heard is when they raid internet cafes, they are looking for porn or music on the computers, any found and bye bye computers.

The police have just been through my company in Bangkok looking for copy master cam and solid work programes and on the computers. Wanted to see all the registration documentation/ stickers and original packaging as well.

New police scam and apparently painfully expensive fines and if you are caught.

All beware.

The police do actually need a search warrant or permission from the owner before they can search a private residence.

Of course if you live somewhere rented, then the appartment or house owner usually doesnt want any trouble, so will let the police in without making a fuss.

yes I believe it has happened quite a bit but only hit the Thai news services, from my understanding from my girlfriend who knows nothing about the internet they got quite a few farangs already

My pc is clean, this one is the one my son uses most of the hard drives, bet they are full of cum covered girls, the hard drive on this one I use is clean apart from a bit of video of me and my girlfriend in action, cant imagine the police would be interested in 40 + year olds having a shag

My boss didn't want any grief and as we had nothing to hide let them through.

I wasn't there but apparently they were not normal flatfoots but special squad dressed in civis. Had all the badges and documentation as well.

Apparently it's not just porn they are after. "Illegal" music and videos are another justification for cops to confiscate computers.
