Thread: Where's Chinthee Going?

As Hootad Binky has gone, I too will wish you all a fond farewell.

This shall be my last post. I've met many nice (real life) people from this forum.

Just read this post from yesterday, seems Hootad has left so for some reason Chinthee has to go also?

Don't understand that myself, and Chinthee is one of the nicest posters on here.

Well if he is going for good, this is the thread to say goodbye to our very own oil mogul.

But actually I think it should be a thread to convince him to stay.

He gave me a green this morning with this rather odd comment:

"You're a good man. sorry for being an ass."

I PM'd him to ask about it, but no reply.

Yes, I don't understand either. Seems like a really nice bloke. Never seen him have problems with other posters.

I think everybody will be sad to see him go, if he must.

I too was surprised to see what seemed an abrupt departure. Whatever his reasons for leaving, I will miss his contribution to the forum.

In my mind, there is no real reason to leave a forum. If you get bored of it, just don't post for a while, and use it when you want to.

He did make a post after that 'last post', saying that if anyone needs to keep in contact to pm him as he would stay 'live' for a week. So he's gonna delete his profile or just never log in again or what? All very odd.

I hope he doesn't go either. I enjoy his posts.

What's really annoying is it's only last week that I stopped getting Chinthee and Chitown mixed up. All that practice for nothing!

Echo those comments, will miss his excellent reviews, so sorry if he does depart.

Has Hootad gone? Thats news to me, but I've been away for a while.

I certainly hope CT has not gone either- they are both very good posters.

At this rate, I might end up the only sane poster in Issues! But take it all with a grain of salt- TD has had several 'Famous flounces'. They're usually back in the fray after a while. Lets hope so.

I hope it isn't anything bad.

I think he said something about having problems with an internet stalker last week. Although I thought it was something that happened a while back by the way he described it.

Chinthee is the rich oil business dude who likes his quality music and films and usually spends his time in issues getting battered by the Europeans.

it has been rumoured for some time that chintee and ray carey were planning on opening a home remodleing shop.

I thought this post was some obscure joke, if not there must be more to it than meets the eye.

Anyway, he is not allowed to leave, his application has been rejected.

Bad enough Hootad is gone, which I can sort of understand given the traumatic event which connects him to Thailand.

Could someone spell out why hootad Binky left?

I just spoke with him on the phone.

Everything is fine.

He just felt is was time to go because he was spending too much time here and not enough time on his work.

Was time to eliminate something that was counterproductive to making money!

Good guy, great poster, fair moderator.

He will be greatly missed

Sad to lose good posters, but in the end its their own choice.
Sometimes these sort of boards can become too addictive and take up too much of your time when other more important things are at hand. They can also have an adverse effect on your health (eg: blood pressure) if you take some of the debates too seriously and/or personally.

I post on several boards and if find the debates are interfering with my personal life I simply don't log on till I get those more important matters attended to and I want some entertainment.

I have no idea why some people feel it necessary to post a farewell message and resign from a board instead of taking a break of indefinite duration to suit their own personal circumstances.

I have seen a few posters resign on other boards and sometimes its anger at persistent harassment from another poster/s, sometimes its due to loss of face /embarrassment over some posts they may have been lured into by an opponent. Those posters usually go out in a huff though.

Sad as it is to see a couple of good posters commit cybersuicide, life goes on.
They have the option to rise from the ashes any time they like if they don't burn too many bridges with their farwell's.
