Medical opinion in the UK suggests that a 'safe' level of drinking per week is something like 20 - 30 units of alcohol (with guys at the higher end and girls at the lower end). A rough guide to alcohol units is as follows:

please translate to proper sizes BB - is a bottle of Singha the same as a can?

and Texpat, even if you only drink twice a week, that amount each time is a health risk...apparently

Back in Europe, I have noticed the wine is often 13/14%, whereas before it used to be 11/12%

that makes a big difference. Sharing a bottle of red between two people tends to make you both befuddled nice word

big bottle = a pint
small bottle = a half
can = a half

Very little now compared to my earlier years - the drink driving laws keep me away from it. Only time I really imbide is when on holiday.

Coffee in the morning and then just water. If we have a family party, I will drink whisky but not for long. In Blighty I will drink Tequila but only at Christmas or birthdays. I can't handle beer at all.

I rarely drink so I put none. But when I do go out or drink at home I usually get blasted. If I go out in downtown Bangkok or somewhere with friends from bar to bar or to a restaurant, I'll have 10 beers. There have been a few times in the last year when I drank at home and had 6 large bottles of Chang. I don't do it often but when I do I usually overdo it.
