Thread: What's with all these acid attacks in the UK?

Weak, ineffectual scrotes who carn't have a good old fashioned fisticuffs, resorting to filling a bottle of battery acid and throwing it in someones face.

Police stop and search now includes examining any liquids the suspect is carrying.

No longer the danger lies behind the knife or gun carrier.

Some twat carrying a bottle of liquid can now ruin anothers life.

Grim!

Started with Pakistanis disfiguring young women, now it's spread to every sick, warped individual with a grudge to bear.

Tougher sentencing is needed, a mandatory 10 years for possession for a start.

It happens quite a lot in Cambodia. Maybe even more than in Pakistan.

Really ? I had no idea, though I do know that mens' attitudes to women there are pretty awful, with pack-rape being more common than elsewhere. They need to reignite Buddhism in Cambodia. Real Buddhism this time.

According to Westmonster there have been 400 acid attacks in the 6 months since April 2017.

^Street robberies / robberies of scooters to commit other crimes!

Here’s another (night club maniac), seems he got a nice sentence recently!

For crimes of this calibre they should sentence the offender to hard labour doing something which earns money, which is then donated to the victim (if living) or the victim's family.

It's incredible that society in London is at such a base level that street robbery is now including the destroying of somebody's life at the same time.

It's been happening for ages in all countries. When the press and politicians start pushing a story like this, you need to step back and wait for their new poxy law to come through on a raft of "we will save the day" and "think of the poor scar faces"

It seems more like a mixture of vanity brought on by social media mixologised with years of subtle celebration of gangster culture, and... opportunity - that there is such a complete lack of regulation controlling access to such chemicals, that you'd have thought might have been dealt with in the days of the fertiliser boom.

Impractical. They can just as easily get sulphuric from car batteries.....those that are still acid and not gel. And every man and his dog in the suburbs wants to keep their concrete new-looking by cleaning it with hydrochloric.....though I guess they could be convinced to use something else.

Yes. Her schtick was the deification of the individual and the destruction of the community. They are usually teenage gangsters who ride the moped as if it guaranteed immunity because the police are inhibited from chasing them if the perps remove their helmets - there is a force regulation imposed as policy preventing the police from pursuing fugitives if there is a risk of a fatality. They hunt in braces or a pack of three, ride on the pavement and intimidate the victim who when faced with a plastic bottle and spray capitulates readily.

There is a new offence being introduced that makes possession of a corrosive liquid without reasonable cause a crime with a term of 6 months imprisonment on conviction.

The phenomenon will peter out.

According to your post, police are not allowed to chase the perps in case the poor darlings get hurt, and victims are no match since they would sensibly concede the goodies rather than risk disfigurement, making this as perfect a crime as a slug could hope for.

Why do you think it will peter out, rather than escalate? Surely not the threat of a Draconian 6-month sentence if perps are identified and located and captured and tried and convicted, and if the judge has the stomach to give them the maximum, of which they would serve a, wait for it, half!
