^ ^^you,ll go blind playing with your five friends all day.

Something about the roads that can turn the mildest person into a raging maniac.

No wonder it's called "road rage", it can strike at any moment and you have no control over it.

    Bit like Lulu's wanking habit.

Do you have 5 friends that will stick by you in ANY situation, one that is willing to bail you out that KNOWS you well enough to bet their own money to back you? I only have 3.

It's not until you're in trouble that you'll find out who your friends are.

I never raised my voice; the offending peasant was never usually worth the effort. They would, however, be worthy of the contents of my bladder. Yes, after my third, fourth, or possibly fifth award winning ale of the evening, I would mount a stealthy attack under the cover of darkness, and piss all over their stuff. Cars, motorbikes, work tools, and yes, livestock, all got splashed with a liberal dousing of urine if their owner had been vexing the great and tremendous Senor Slap.

    You can have that one.

    Just don't get caught.

Probably only 2 but I do have a brother as well and that counts for a hell of a lot.
My hands on best friend is definitely my wife, purely due to geographical inconvenience.

Walking down the street with a kid in my arms , stopped and said hello to a lady , at her request
Pleasant enough exchange , she then flicked dirty water in our faces , it got quite unpleasant after that
    They've avoided me since

Change that. If it's a crazy yokel pickup truck tailgating me, I will do the Thai thing and ignore it for just the right amount of time to keep face, then change lanes as if it was what I was always intending to do. Because I don't want to be rear-ended at the next red light.

Usually I'm on a bike. One of the things I picked up on quite early in my Thailand driving was to use peripheral vision. If you look directly at a cnut who is pulling out from a side street and meaning to cut you off, or coming up beside you to edge you out, if the cnut knows you've seen him he will be emboldened. But don't glance his way, he fears you don't see him and will be more circumspect.
Exactly. I think it all boils down to "when in Rome, do as the Romans do". Just act as Thais would in the same situation....though you have to either bottle up your anger, or do as Misskit does and shout with the windows closed and air-con on.

Or the same, but in a more subtle way :

I think you can only do that by shouting at them in front of others. But that's just me.

    Simple.

    Saves face all round.

Saves you from hunting them down and poisoning their dogs during the night.
You need a 007 bicycle, surely?

It's bad enough in the UK, how you think you're ever going to have a chance in braindead Thailand is a mystery.

The locals live in a different paradigm where your power is based on who you appear to know, rather than how hard you appear to be able to punch. Maybe put some official-looking Thai stickers on the side of your car, blacked out windows and a light on top?

How about wearing black suit, shades, and rocking a nine milly on the dashboard, and spitting at them as they get out and stroll over?

Has the person you're gonna shout at realised they've done 'wrong' ?

If not, why bother. You'll just bewilder them and look stupid, thus risking them losing face, which could be risky

Some moaning farangs have those days where they hate Thais and Thailand, and will act as such. Luckily I avoid such c**ts.

On the road, just keep your blinkers on and worry about yourself. Thais are crap ignorant idiots behind the wheel, that's why they do stupid things. Getting wound up with road rage is futile, pointless. Grit yer teeth and keep both hands on the wheel.

Did your dad ever live here Pat?

I gather that you popped out in the 70's to a Londoner dad and Thai mom, I think I read that she passed away when you were young (sorry about that, if correct). Did he live here in the 70's? You're open enough about your life and pics etc, don't think I've ever heard about that side of the story. Not as much to'ing and fro'ing as nowadays back then, almost half a century ago.

And another thing, when driving, 99% of Thais will be texting or watching their phone, or rummagng around for it while driving. Always assume this.

It's a jungle out there, man.

Not sure what it's to do with this topic or if it's a thnly veiled prelude to a pisstake, but yes he did in the late 60s/early 70s.

And to answer your likely next question, no he wasn't a sex tourist.

Nope, genuine interest. Not in a personal way, bet it was an interesting time back then, besides army personnel on R&R and journalists there probably wasn't that many out here. You've put a lot of your life and family life on here, but I don't think I've seen anything about that side of it. Would be interesting.

Back in the 70's Thailand was famous for that movie with that legendary potato head as king.

Little was known about Thailand and it was well off the beaten track for tourists.

Thailand was very much a mystical enigma of the Orient.

What the fok would you know.

You've been here once on a stop over in the 90's and once on a 2 week holiday, bought a mail-order bride that fleeced you, then lost the house on a game of black jack, then foked off with a Welsh bloke.

    Possibly chiangmainoon.
