I couldn't find "international day" day though - clearly it needs one, to fight prejudice against the concept of having international days for things.

In today's news I read that Maryborough in Queensland has changed some of the lights to a red Mary Poppins standing still and a green Mary Poppins flying with her brolly.

Maryborough is the hometown of the author of Mary Poppins.
I have no issue with that female silhouette on the lights. It actually signifies something.

In Wellington they have Kate Sheppard on the cross lights, and have had for a few years. I also have no issue with it, it's much less boring.

It's all gonna make me think twice when I see this on a door....
