Why do Thais celebrate the Gregorian calendar.?

Songkran is by far the most popular.

So why are they celebrating the new Year.?

Why is it a Bank holiday.?

How can you have two new years.?

Are you trying to deny a banker a holiday? What kind of .... human...would deny a banker a holiday. Those, whom we entrust our money, deserve any break from collecting all the interest that they can get.

It's what we owe the bankers, after all, they invented New Year. Think about it, isn't it how they charge interest?

China, Saudi Arabia, Israel, India and Iraq don't celebrate New Years according to what I just read and they're all as Christian as Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Turkey, Sudan, Peru and Syria.

Besides that, there are a few different historic Buddhists calendars - depending on who's observing.
