There were different sized engines available for Capris. My Capri had a 1.6 litre engine. My neighbour had a 2.8 litre engine in his newer model, and a workmate of mine had a 3 litre engine in his older model.

Those 2.8 & 3.0 models had a short shelf life with the boy racers.

Not many off them left and very collectable on account off 99% being wrapped around lamp posts.

^ Yes, they look quite similar but the Mazda looks slightly nicer on the outside IMO. I sat in a new 2 litre series 3 Mazda (skyactive) recently. It looked lovely from the outside but I have to say I wasn't impressed with the interior.

I like the look but would never buy one, as I don't like front wheel drive cars.

Loved it until I ploughed into a kangaroo on the Hume Highway at about 5am doing 130-140 . . . . It was lots of things - but built to bump off roos wasn't one of them


My brother had a Capri as well, bought it in the US in the early 70s and brought it with him to Germany when he was in the Navy - the car travelled in style - Navy Style.
Big F-Off bumper bars and longer than the average Euro-car.
