Have you been ripped off in Thailand?

Multi poll, ie check the boxes that apply to you and then press submit.

    Ripped off or overcharged.

Restaurant - Yes, if the rip is considered below par food
Stall type food vendor - no, can't say I've eaten from 'em more than once or thrice.
Bar bill - nope, (watered down drinks count?)
Bar Girls - nah! Always a bargain compared to what we get "back home"
    Petrol station - no
Builder - no even though I've built a couple of houses here, but I'm a builder by trade
Police - Yes if bribing the foks counts as a rip (I see it as a time saving no aggro bonus!)
    Clothes shop - no
Taxi, motorbike samlor etc - no
    Beach vendor - no

I was impressed by the copper that locked my wheel up last week.
He took me back to the station to pay my fine and then gave me a lift back to my bike to remove the lock.
never once did he suggest that I should give him the money under the table (that's a first for me).
During our trip back to the station, he locked 3 cars in a no nonsense sort of way and wasn't listening to the owner's complaints.

maybe they are actually doing something about the corruption thing.

The poll should have a 'Landlords' option.

The only time I have been ripped off.

Just about every time that you buy anything that says MADE IN THAILAND, you have taken it in the shorts if you plan on using what ever you have bought and expect it to last longer than a few times.

I was told Thai women were sub-servient (sp?)

    I was ripped!

Oh, and every time I go in a so-called 5-star hotel and pay over 100 Baht for a fucking coffee I'm ripped. (which could also apply to Starfucks, but I don't use their services)

Unless it's clothing, which I've found to be excellent.

    Landlords

Thai Chinese bitch once tried to fuck me for 60,000

Her eventual gain was 14000, but I'll never forgive her for the barefaced dishonesty.

Time will tell, but paint stripper over her Mercedes is growing nearer as we speak.
