I'd like to do that drive and many others like it.
Long distance driving is second nature to me. I'd rather drive than be a passenger.
A few years ago I was regularly driving across Australia, between Hamilton, New South Wales and Nightcliff, Northern Territory.
Of course, flying is the way to travel but I had to move ute loads with a Nissan Navara, V6 auto.
Kangaroo, cows and sheep make country driving at night too dangerous so, dawn starts and try to be off the road by dark.
First day; 1600 kilometers - Nightcliff to Mt Isa. 1600 kilometers. You can make good time in the NT, few towns and hold ups.
Second day; 1100 kilometers - Mt Isa to Tambo. Queensland has low speed limits and use road users as revenue raisers so even though there are few towns the average speed goes down.
Third day; 1244 kilometers - Tambo to Hamilton via Mitchell, Narrabri then join the New England Slow Way. Home by late afternoon.

    Yep,

Those distances are certainly doable as long as one gets an early start. 5-6 AM.

Also I find that high speed driving keeps my mind focused.

Now I tow a Caravan at low speed I get tired a lot quicker so off the road by 4 ish PM is good.

Like Australia Canada is a big place.

    As a salesman I've done a 2600km circuit in a 4-5 day trip.

Also not uncommon to see a fellow traveler in one place on a Friday 600kms from home and see him again on the Monday 780 kms from home. So including getting there and back that's about 3000kms in 4 days.

Worked at one site which was about 850kms from home and I used to leave about 4pm Sunday, return after work on Friday. Nearest airport was 300 kms.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.
You people, you think I know feck nothing; I tell you: I know feck all
