I'd like to do that drive and many others like it.
Long distance driving is second nature to me. I'd rather drive than be a passenger.
A few years ago I was regularly driving across Australia, between Hamilton, New South Wales and Nightcliff, Northern Territory.
Of course, flying is the way to travel but I had to move ute loads with a Nissan Navara, V6 auto.
Kangaroo, cows and sheep make country driving at night too dangerous so, dawn starts and try to be off the road by dark.
First day; 1600 kilometers - Nightcliff to Mt Isa. 1600 kilometers. You can make good time in the NT, few towns and hold ups.
Second day; 1100 kilometers - Mt Isa to Tambo. Queensland has low speed limits and use road users as revenue raisers so even though there are few towns the average speed goes down.
Third day; 1244 kilometers - Tambo to Hamilton via Mitchell, Narrabri then join the New England Slow Way. Home by late afternoon.
