If I have more than 2-3 big bottles of Leo, Singha, Cheers whatever - I usually wake up about 3am the next morning then can't get back to sleep, or I sleep as lightly as if I'd had an espresso before bedtime.
In otherwords I'll have what I refer to as a 'beer sleep' resulting in fatigue and feeling hotter, heavier eyed and sweatier than usual the next day.
Has anyone actually managed to quit booze in Thailand? It's nigh on impossible to quit smoking here but drinking is something that goes hand in hand with socializing and unless you have no mates it seems impossible to avoid.
Drinking lots and lots of beer/alcohol has just that one positive - it's a social relaxant, and for smokers the drink and the tabacco compliment each other.
Over the years my consumption of alcohol has resulted in falling asleep on pavements, making a fool of myself, vomiting, bad guts, unhealthy liver, over consumption of cigarettes, carelessness resulting in HIV tests, violence towards friends, bedwetting, over spending, severe nausea and headaches, time wasting, failed relationships, and risking my life in many ways.
I do not drink as much as I used to and the fatigue described in the first paragraph is as bad as it gets these days, though it's still a shite way to live.
Is alcohol over rated and can any of you out there, (out here) live without it?
