    Sorry to hear that Patsycat.
My ex wife's cousin was slipped a date rape pill.
She was also very drunk before it happened and alone.

There's a lot of weirdos out there.

Sounds as though you fought back at your attackers? Sad this. This is when an apology just isn't enough. Hope you get the assholes.

    Scary shit.

One minute you're having a laugh and the next you're waking up in hospital.

At least i wasn't raped. I was robbed, but I have a thing about not going out with too much money, always put taxi fare in jeans pocket, and house keys etc. and I only have a 4 year old nokia phone not one of those fancy pants i phones.

Anyways, nuff about me. I shall watch that documentary tonight.

Never leave a drink on a bar, keep it in your hand.

One good thing that came of that nightmare was that when they x rayed my chest they saw a sort of shadow in my left breast. So i had to go and get it tested for cancer, luckily it came back negative.

My husband kept his under the bed. But to be honest, there's a wee bit they have to take out of the gun that makes it un usable.

But i'm sure i know enough reprobates around town who keep the wee bit in their guns!!!

Definitely interested in the odds. Post them.
It seems to be suddenly stopping the debauchery that kills people. Suddenly off the piss, drugs, cigs, etc.

    Nobody respects a quitter anyways.
People who quit after years think the body will just repair itself of the years of abuse. That obviously ain't the case as that doc proved.

All the stuff in that doc about ''gremlins'' in the heads of alkies can be interpreted as nonsense whatever your outlook is.

Alcoholism and obesity addictions are becoming the norm it seems. But they're illnesses that can be avoided with willpower.

Willpower, the new drug? Like you say, nobody respects a quitter. Sad. But, I'm not of the idea that when you quit you gotta start telling every person you meet, like last week out and about I wanted a smoke but had no light, so I asked some guy

''You got a light for my cigarette please?''

''No mate, I quit 3 months ago''

Where in my question did I ask for a life story? I think many of those who go around telling all are giving themselves bigger pressure to keep that front up to all. Get on with life, get ahead a bit more. If you can exercise that much willpower you can go one better.

I recon that's me done, wont be going there again, ain't got the time to waste.

The sight of the 29yo guy in that doc knocking back half pints of red wine then having to throw up because he didn't let the last one go down properly is quite disturbing, a desperation. Because of his drinking he can't sort out his benefits and may lose his bedsit.

    My heart bleeds.

That's not telling you their life story, that's explaining why they don't have a light. If I'm ever asked I find "Sorry, I don't smoke" more polite than "No. Fuckoff", but maybe that's just me.

^It was the way he told me, smug and smiling. I don't like that, would have preferred just ''No sorry mate''

It was also his posh accent.

Perhaps all in you're mind? Rejection?

When you ask people a question, do you always get the reply you like?

I live next door to a drunk and a chain smoker. He regularly shits and pisses himself. Wife washes out his soiled clothes and bed sheets. She pukes and pisses herself in the car and then has to douche clean the car.

Its a match made in heaven. I tried to befriend the man, but he's to far gone. The entire neighborhood stays clear of both of them. Sad it is, but then its their choice.

BTW D.J. I quit smoking 25 years ago and quit drinking 21 years ago. I think my lungs are far better for having quit and for certain my body overall is far better off than had I continued either habit. I stopped both "cold turkey." Not bragging just that all of a sudden I made up my mind that they just weren't parts of my life that I needed or wanted any longer.

Never smoked more than a pack a day and sometimes drank to excess, but not an alcoholic. Simply bad habits I wished I had never indulged in.

Like you and the other's here say, its up to you. Couldn't agree more. Good thread btw.
