    Welfare payments in Pattaya

    Welfare payments for the Elderly, Disabled and those with HIV/AIDS begin.
    Khun Wootisuk, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya chaired this further meeting at Pattaya City Hall to discuss the progress of the local welfare program to assist the elderly, disabled and those infected with the HIV/AIDS virus here in Pattaya. A total of 193 people who qualify for assistance were in attendance at the meeting. They were informed that an annual budget of 844,000 Baht has been assigned to the program which will see HIV/AIDS victims receiving 300 Baht per month with the rest receiving 500 Baht per month. At this meeting they received their initial payments and will return to Pattaya City Hall next month to received their next welfare payment.

    ^more than half of the 193 would need to be AIDS/HIV+

    So in the whole of Pattaya they can only find 193 people who are old, disabled or HIV+
