hard work is my middle name but have slowed down the last couple of years even at 35 I already suffer from old injuries from hard yaker on the rigs when I was younger. Now days it is not so much hard labour more long hours min of 12 hours a day up to 16 or more hours a day depending on the operation for 35 days straight. Mind you all I do on my 35 off is drink root and ride

    "Hard Work" is subjective.

What's hard work to one person may not be hard work to another:

    Genes
    ability
    attitude
    aptitude
    work ethic

Hard work can be physical and it can be mental.

"Hard work" as in, "we appreciate all your hard work on this" or "fuck man, that shit is hard work?" Or, reverse the words, "Word hard" as in, I am work(ing) hard on this project" or, "I enjoy work(ing) hard towards an attainable goal, but working hard towards the unattainable is fuckin frustrating hard work"

"Hard work" can be related to physical labor that requires strength and endurance. This type of work whether it be digging ditches or buildig an iron structure can be gratifying. Work that is thankless or lacks direction is "hard work" no matter the amount of physical stress.

The Hard work of "Thank you for your hard work" is focused, diligent work, working smart and getting the job done is doing "hard work" as in "hard currency." Give me some one that works smart and gets the "hard work" done as opposed to someone that "Works hard" with out focus any day of the week.

Nothing at all wrong with hard work as long as those doing it don't mind.

Good post (as usual)!. There seems to be a few people here who thinks that hard work has to be a chore, but if you enjoy your work, are good at it, and, as FF says, "works smart", why can't hard work be enjoyable, and perhaps completed in a few hours? And you would still have the energy left to go out and have a good time......

is that really hard work ? I see a contradiction in that sentence even though I understand the point.

I think one the issues about hard work is how much it can be painful for some with little reward attached to it.

If you enjoy working long hours, how is it more hard than working in a mine ? I don't think it is

No, that is only boring work.
Hard work is when the girlie in mentioned bar comes over and rubs your knob.

No, that is only entertaining work.
Hard work is when you get home late smelling of soap and perfume and you have to explain to your wife where you have been.

    My job is hard work.

All of the above (minus the moving of rocks) working 14 hour days on a game on a funfair enduring an awful mish mash collision of non stop Eurotrash/bad dance music from surrounding amusement rides.

Being paid 350 UKP a week for a 98 hour week, having no free time or days off, having a 23yr old caffine addicted twat of a boss and not being paid on time by the pikey bastards who own the thing.

Anyone who quits loses two weeks pay and their flight money home.

Unfortunately I don't have any free time to find an alternative but I am enormously gifted at film editing if anyone has any contacts in Asia.

...Which reminds me, you also don't get a thankyou, let alone additional money for filming and editing the companys TV promo.
