I seem to remember that happening once. I think it was Robbie Fowler and it was either in an England game or an important cup game. He was universally praised for his actions (except by the board maybe).Originally Posted by DrAndy

And paolo di canio caught the ball with his hands in the box instead of head it into an empty net because the keeper was down injured before his team mate crossed it to him.
It's only the cheating french scum.

VIRALS SPECIAL: Thierry Henry's cheating hand suffers at the hands of Internet jokers
By Sportsmail Reporter
Last updated at 10:41 PM on 19th November 2009 The world has reacted with revulsion at Thierry Henry's handball that helped France make the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa.
But in the most part, the response to the 'Hand of Frog' incident - surely soon to be rechristened 'Henrygate' - has been humorous - except in Ireland where sales of a certain razor blade are set to plummet and the phrase Va-Va-Voom has been banned.
Virals to commemorate Henry's hand have sprung up in their dozens and there's already a Facebook group 'We Irish hate Thierry Henry the Cheat' that could bring the Internet down with it's popularity.
It's funny, topical and anti-French - so we love it - here are the best of the virals...

i'd rather have a phlebotomy than a full frontal lobotomy
If he would of done this against a country like Columbia he would be dead now. Their supporters have been known to kill their own players for losing a game fairly.
Good pics SRJ. But this topic has been done to death already.
Andreas Escobar R.I.P
Scored an own goal in the 1994 world cup which knocked Columbia out of the tournament and was shot TWELVE times and died.
It was reported that the killer shouted "Goal!" (mimicking South American sporting commentators for their calls after a goal is scored) for each of the 12 bullets fired.
I'd have a lot of sympathy for all that Irish whining if they hadn't won the game before that against Georgia on a much worse ref decision.
Two interesting things about that: One, the ref decision is outlandish. The guy called for hands in the pen area was nowhere near the ball. Two, see all those Irish players lamenting fair play, trying to convince the ref it wasn't a handball... oh, there aren't any. In fact, skipper Keane seems to be in a right hurry to get to the penalty spot.
Anyway
I did love Henry's claims that this incident has made him consider quitting International football..... Poor Victim Love Him....
but there isn't a player that hasn't benefitted from something similar in his career and didn't say a word.....
Wendyball..... that's why it got it's name
Clive Woodward's methods of coaching and game tactics was a crass form of cheating and nobody says a word about this apart from me!
He even achieved a Knighthood for doing so!
so the French won again, is that what this whining thread is all about ?
