I hope you haven't jumped on McIlroy.
He's ruptured his ankle ligaments playing football.
Due to a drunken misread of the William Hill mobile website, I have 50 quid e/w on Dustin at 20/1.
Not in Thailand though, obviously, because that would be illegal.

Ok so that proves you definitely don't bet on sports, and with your knowledge of anything played with a ball that's probably not a bad thing. Here's what that players mentioned above are actually paying as of this morning;
Rory McIlroy 15.00
Jordan Spieth 7.60
Dustin Johnson 14.50
Adam Scott 22.00
Justin Rose 21.00
Henrik Stenson 23.00
Louis Ousthizen 23.00
Jason Day 36.00
Being a Major, each-way will payout 1/4 odds on a top-6 placing (versus top-5 with any other golf event).
Harry your drunken misread may be a blessing in disguise, Johnson has shortened up now as the money starts to come in. You're right about Rory doing a fetlock, wouldn't like to be on him just yet till seeing how he pulls up. And that info will come after he plays his practice round on the "Live from The Open" show on Golf Channel each evening for the 2-3 days leading up to the event.
My first bet is Martin Kaymer - who played very well in France last week on a links style course - and one other, yet to to decided. With the big odds on Majors and it being so hard to pick a winner, having 2 players in your corner (both each-way) helps the chances of a collect.
20/1 is bloody good odds on a guy like JohnsonOriginally Posted by Headworx

A lot better than the totally absurd 3/1 you quoted . Does your local Bookie take you for a complete mug as well or did you just pull that price out of your arse trying to look intelligent?. Anyway, Johnson's claim to fame is he leads the long driving stats on the PGA tour, by a long way, which sets him up for far shorter approach shots than his competitors. That won't help him around the Old Course, in fact it'll be his downfall if he pulls the driver too often on a track where positional play is all important and the bunkers are like bomb craters (unlike most American courses). Can he still win?. Yes, of course he can. But so can the other top 50-60 players in the world (plus exemptions) who'll also be on the starting grid and who'll be hitting 3 woods or irons off the tee when the ball simply cannot be anywhere off the short grass.
No Bruce, what I rely on is having played the game since teen years (3 times a week these days), being a single figure marker, having followed the Pro Tours forever, and liking to have weekly bets on the PGA, European, and LPGA tours if a player looks like good value. If you want to back Johnson at 3/1 I'll hold it. Hell, i'll even give you 7/2.

Just post the link you used that's got Rory at 5/4 and Scotty at 4/1.

^Because when he gets into his stride and his confidence is up,there's no better player to watch in the current game. He really is the full package, hence being world #1. First round is next Thursday.
It was...actually if I recall it was in the final round...which ended tied so they had a replay the next day...something tells me Zoeller returned the favour with a white towel as a joke...but Headcase will knowOriginally Posted by Tassini
