    Ice Hockey

I notice here that everything is all about soccer (european football). What about the greatest sport in the world?

    ICE HOCKEY

Or in America we call it just hockey. I don't see any threads based on this incredibly fast paced, physical sport. What's going on?? OK, lol, let's start this off with a few questions:

    1) Who is your favorite team?

    2) What is the record of your favorite team for this year?

You can get all the info you want from www.NHL.com

My favorite team would be the Minnesota Wild. Go figure, lol, I am from Minnesota. The record this year for the Minnesota Wild is 11 wins and 14 loses. LOL, I know that they aren't doing very well, but hey, it's still early in the season. Give them a chance, lmao. Let me know what you think.

Timberwolf, hockey is a minor sport in the US. It gets lower TV ratings than curling and dwarf tossing.
I guess by default I am a Flyers fan. If the Flyers make it to the semi-finals, I'll watch. The regular season is too long and meaningless.
    I prefer football and basketball.

You must be from the East Coast, USA njdesi. In Minnesota, it is very popular. But you are right, lol. In other parts of the US it does have some of the lowest ratings around, and the lack of last season didn't help at all. I am a huge hockey fan/player from way back. Oh, and Marmite, lmao, if hockey players looked like that, I would have never quit playing, lmao. Where did you find that pic anyway, lmao.

I'm sorry MeMock, I thought you were joking around. Gretsky, played for the Oilers, and than played for the LA Kings. He now owns a team, but at this moment it has slipped my mind as to which team he owns. I know that it is either Phenoix or Colorado. And it's the NHL, not the NFL. NHL means National Hockey League, and NFL means National Football League. In the NFL, lol, my favorite team would be the Minnesota Vikings, who happend to be doing better than the Minnesota Wild at the moment, lol.

That name rings a bell, but for the life of me I can't remember who he is, lol. Sorry about that. Yes, I am originally from Minnesota. Beautiful country there. If you like flat lands that is, lol. From your question, I am assuming that you would like a team from the hottest temperature city in the US. Well, if that is the case, you have a choice of three teams. Two being in Florida, and one being in Texas. The two Florida teams are Florida Panthers, and Tampa Bay Lightning. The team from Texas is the Dallas Stars. Now you would have to check out www.NHL.com to find out how those teams are doing, just click on the Standings link, and it will list all teams by place in their division, and have all kinds of stats. If you have any questions about the stats, just PM me or e-mail me, and I will do my best to explain them. LMAO, I just looked up Luc Longley on google, and he was/is a basketball player, lol. I will have to admit, I am not a basketball fan, but I've had enough friends that were basketball fans, and that is probably where I heard the name before, lol. But now I have a tid bit of info on an Australian playing a professional sport (outside of wrestling another favorite of mine) in the US. And he even played for the Minnesota Timberwolves. **does a happy dance** LMAO.

Well I haven't looked up the link otherwise I will choose the team that has the best record and I don't want to do that. Pick a team for any other reason and then sticj with it so the Tampa Bay lightning it is! They probebly have the worst record in the league or a clouded by some drug scandal or something but thats all right, they are my team and I love em!!

    GOOOOO Lightning!

I just assumed by your name being timberwolf that you would have been a huge basketball fan. Luc Longley comes from my state and now lives back here and owns our local team in our national league. If I remember rightly he graduated from new mexico and was drafted by the timberwolfs at no 7 in the first round. After a few seasons he was traded to the chicago bulls where he won 3 NBA titles. Actually another Aussie called Shane Heal also played for the Timberwolfs but he was crap and only played about 30 games or something.
