Where can I buy Calves Liver?

I really fancy cooking up some Liver and Onions but can't find Liver anywhere. All the recipes I've tried in the past I used Calves liver but I can't find it in Bangkok.

I tried Villa who tried to palm me off with chickens' livers and also Emporium who could offer me pigs' liver either the size of paving slabs or sliced into strips.

Any ideas? If you live near enough you can come and scoff them with me!

Possibly, but Emporium and Paragon are the same group - but I'll give it a try. Thanks

I had Liver and bacon in the Black Swan for lunch, quite expensive at 395 baht and the liver was a 3 inch slab that I could barely cut never mind chew on. Nobody around apart from the young girls to complain to so I just paid up and left.

My quest for some decent liver is still on!

Never saw veal meat let alone the liver at Thai markets. Only pig liver -- yecch. If you really want liver and onions, then do the sow stuff, but panfry with onions and simmer with water for about an hour. Should be OK. I only eat calves liver. Too much crap in the older ones.

Pig liver is quite alright if its de-veined properly and cooked lightly. Pig is also the freshest your apt to find in Thailand. Done properly its as good as any.

A good plate can be had at the Texas Bar in the "Square" off suk 22.
