Bland Food in Thailand

I am only doing this thread so I can show you my superduper chip dicer, I bought it 2 or 3 years ago and tonight was the first time I have used it, well you know what it is like with all these frozen chips in the supermarkets now, hardly any point in peeling a potato anymore, anyway it is not as superduper as I was led to believe, at first I tried doing the whole potato, without the use of a sledgehammer there was noway this was gonna work, so eventually I pried the potato out of the dicer machine thingy, by this time it was a bit mangled, I cut the potato in half and then run it through the dicer again, I must admit if I was doing the washing up I wouldn't have bothered using the dicer just to do one potato, anyway as you can see in the following pictures the chips are a bit of a mess shape wise, a lot of this was due to using a big spoon to pry it out of the poxy dicer thing.

The beans I normally chuck curry powder into to liven erm up a bit, but today I wanted "bland", only 2 slices of bacon as that was all that was left in the packet, still another week of using that frying pan and I can look forward to some nice fried bread

Reminds me of the first time I went to "Europe". Stayed in some bed and breakfast ("Telstra") in Kensington and they served something like that for breakfast except there were also sausages that tasted like oatmeal (porridge), tomatoes that were fried, stone cold toast in a metal rack and cereal (Whatabix?) that tasted like cardboard.

It wasn't until I had the cold gray peas and the pasty mashed potatoes for supper that I started longing for breakfast....

Jesus DD ! stick to building mate, That is one unhealthy looking breakfast, look like those fucking woeful AYAM baked beans too. You can get proper Ozzie ones at Villa now.

Thai potatoes have too much water content to be good for frying. Chris at Oh My Cod has found some good ones though. His home made chips are great. Bet they come from Chaing Mai.

My missus makes pretty good chips - had chip and eggs today and she thought I was mental cos I put vinegar on me chips - I explained to her that all the chips she had in England had vinegar on, but she just wouldn't believe it.

Anyway, the Ayams beans are OK once you get used to them as long as you get the unsweetened ones with a blue stripe on the tin.
