Yam Neua Pee Set.

Hi all, as promised, tonight I bring you my recipe for Yam Neua Pee Set.

A recipe.

Yam Neua is possibly the easiest dish to knock up at home and is one of my favourites. You can use whatever salad ingredients that you like and I have actually adapted this particular dish by combining it with a salad I used to order in an Italian restaurant years ago. It is bloody delicious.

Here are all the ingredients that you will need but you should feel free to experiment with whatever salad stuff that you have knocking around.

Simply knock up your salad by chopping everything up and bunging it in a bowl. I shred the carrot using a cheese grater but be very careful cos if you go too far you can end up with bits of finger in your salad.

Your salad will end up something like this.

Next is the only tricky bit. Heat a little oil with some chilli flakes in a large pan or wok. For this to work you need the pan to be really, really hot. I mean, so hot that it is smoking. Add the piece of beef to the pan and dont go anywhere coz this is really only going to take just a minute, maybe two.
The idea is to just sear the steak on both sides by turning it only once.
Be careful coz if you are doing this right the steak is going to spit and his when it hits the pan.

Tip: While the steak is searing on the very high heat, pick up the pan by the handle and shake it so that the steak moves around all of the pan. This helps to make it really crusty and almost burnt. It also makes you look like you are a professional chef. If you want to look really good try holding your other arm up behind you as if you were fencing.

Remember to turn the steak so that it is seared on both sides (this will take no more than 2 minutes).

Next, remove the steak and slice it into thin strips. Notice that the steak is still quite raw in the middle.(deelish) Actually if you like it cooked more then just leave it in the pan a little longer.

Then simply add the steak strips onto the top of your salad and bobs your uncle.

Oh and dont forget to pour over some sweet chilli sauce. You can even sprinkle some chilli flakes over the top too (if you are a show-off).

Voila!

Yam Neua Pee Set.

Enjoy.

Burp.

Yeah, I used Homebrand Sweet Chilli Sauce Memmers but just use whatever is in your cupboard. I actually used up the last of that sauce in the making of this post/dinner but I still have a bottle of really fok off hot Chilli sauce for next time. It is well hot too.

AO, the beauty of this dish is that you can do anything you like. I sometimes poach an egg and bung it on the top.
As they say in Thailand ..........Dump Jai.......its up to you mate.

Of course you can mate but the preparation time is...................well actually I aint got a clue. Fresh chilli's are well hot and to the unknowing can get quite ugly. Try it and see. The beauty of this recipe is that you can experiment.

It is actually quite fun to try different things. See how you get on but if you burn your mouth ,dont blame me.
