Thread: Caprese Salad. The best salad in the World.

At least for me.

Someone mentioned salad today, so tonight's antipasto was a no brainer.

Couldn't be simpler. Buffalo Mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. Olive oil and ground black pepper and salt to garnish.

Unfortunately I only had a slab of mozzarella and not buffalo.



About 3 minutes later.



Simple and delish.

In fact that looks nothing like a salad, looks more like you had no bread in your cupboard for the sandwich :-)

Looks wonderful but where did you get the beef toms from ?

You are not far wrong Al, i can't be dealing with that rabbit food. Id much sooner a ploughmans although thats not too easy in Thailand. Is piccalili a vegetable?

And these mini pizzas, just tomato based with grated cheese from Kwik Save, were fantastic if you put hp sauce on them before shovin em in the microwave, think they were made by Ross

I've no idea mate, but yeah the minced beef ones were my favourite too.

Potato Waffles instead of chips was another beauty.

Used to love it when my grandad looked after us we'd have mince and onions, corned beef hash or a pan of scouse. Loads of brown sauce. Get in!

Please tell what this dish consists of.

^It's a thin Lamb or Beef stew with potatoes, carrots onions. Slow cooked or more often (by my grandad) obliterated in a pressure cooker. We normally had pickled beetroot with it.

It's not that different to any other stew as far as I can tell, apart from it wasn't thickened like the stews my Mum made.

Shoudn't the cheese be bocconcini? Think thats the spelling.

Just shows what I know , I was always under the illusion it was a potato based pan fried thing , glad I didn't ask for one of them in the cafe in Lodge lane I used to frequent , I would have been very disappointed
