    Kanchanaburi Pics

    Here’s some pics from Kanchanaburi.

Bus from Southern bus station about 100baht pp - We were originally going to take the train there but the taxi man had other ideas so we missed the 7:50am train #OhWell
I’ve been here before but missus has not. It was nice to re-visit some museums though and discover a couple of new places.

300 baht fan loom on a raft. Clean inside with a electric shower, free water and an amazing view out front. I was surprised. They also supply a litle plastic boat

Mallika village is worth a visit. Read more here - Mallika City - The tourist attraction in Kanchanaburi. The past Siamese lifestyle in the reign of King Chulalongkorn, Rama V (1873-1910 A.D.) (Official website) And no.. I couldn’t be arsed to dress up

Loft Bar & Restaurant is a decent place to have dinner near the river and get a sunset view. Bit more expensive than the famous places right next to the bridge rammed with tourists .... but its nicer and quiet.

    Loom & View

    Cemetery Near the Railway Museum

    Bridge

Chinese style temple next to the bridge

    Chinese Soldier Tomb

    JEATH Museum

    Loft Bar & Restaurant

Backpacker area in Kanch - A shot of 'Black Cock' only 10b

    Random Scenery

    Mallika Village

Nice stuff Punter. Hey, I recall recently reading that European women will travel all the way to South Africa for a shot of ...
    Black Cock.

Nice pictures, Looks like I missed some cool sights when I was out there. That old JEATH museum was in pretty rough shape when I was out there, but had some cool stuff to look at.

Very nice, cheers. The pics are great.

I go on a bike ride up around there every month or two, lovely break from Bkk.

Great mountain roads, rivers, greenery, nurses. The whole shabang.

The WWII stuff ensures lots of tourists/backpackers which means interesting bookshops, and places catering to Western tastes.

My family enjoy staying on those floating hotel things up there, which is a bit unique and exotic for them.

    Cheers Punty.

I stayed on one of the islands a few years ago. The rooms are generally shite, but who cares when you've got views like that?

Cool pics! I have a bunch of Kanchanaburi on my flicker page as well. Did some videos too. The place is so calm and relaxing. Taking the train is fun too.. they have a little tourist train you can take over the bridge.
