    Songkran at Sena

2005 Songkran was spent with some friends in and around a small town outside Ayutthaya called Sena.

here's a sample of a typical Thai style Songkran..

Waiting for the bus at Ayutthaya

The guys who we stayed with..

I heard a rumour there's quite a high death toll on the roads but I don't know where that comes from..

So, as you can see, it's all about water and getting wet and getting someone else wet!

Although I've never been to Chaingmai but I heard from many chaps that the songkran's worth spending there.

I think CMN can give us a good insight.

Yep, it's a day for the kids........they realy love it and they don't have any beers!!

These guys spent the whole day eating, drinking, watching and occasionally throwing some water.

Somewhere there was the inevitable concert c/w dancing girls, music and drunks!
Not emily by the way............well not yet!

Em can make friends anywhere which is good because she ended up learning Thai dancing rather than me!

Nice girls in amognst that lot.

This can happen, so pace yourselves! Unless you want to get away from it all.

Luckily for them the big girl stayed on her feet.

This kid had the best seat in the car and still wasn't happy.

There was even a pickup fullof katoeys.

    More kids.

    And more drunks..

Can I add some pictures instead of starting another thread.

These are all Hua Hin. SongKhran is only one day, which is enough for me to be honest. My eldest son said it was the most fun he had ever had in a single day.

These girls seemed to be part of a Ms Songkhran show - 'Look, look, get the farang, get the farang'
    Lord, deliver us from e-mail.

And these chaps seemed to be like English Morris dancers.

I liked this girl's T shirt. I wasn't sure whether it was supposed to be an advertisement or just her favourite fantasy.

I remember this girl wasn't enjoying herself too much so one of the chaps took her upstairs to help her dry off.

I did Songkran at Hua Hin 2 years ago.
It wasn't much fun getting aroung the town but down in the village near the temple they were having a great time.

Where I stayed there was no activity at all but it was just a small housing estate just south of the main area.
We went through the town where I took the full force of a pump gun in my eye while riding with the g/f. I wanted to punch that guy soooo much!! I also got fined twice for not wearing a helmet!
Later we headed out to the fishing village under the hill where the temple is at the south end of the beach. That was pretty wild but a whole lot more fun!
Thais seem to enjoying drowning the Thai girlfriends of the farang more than they do soaking us!!
