Chefs’ Association to hold cooking competition for Eastern region

The Chefs’ Association will stage the inaugural Pattaya Food and Hotelier Expo cooking competition in July, an event that will showcase chefs in Pattaya City and the Eastern provinces and also to help raise cooking standards to international levels.

The announcement was made at the association’s annual party for its members and their families, formally opened by Mayor Niran Wattanasartsathorn at the Town in Town Hotel, with his advisor Itthipol Khunplome and former senator of Chonburi Santsak Ngampiches amongst those attending.
Chairman of the Chefs’ Association Suchart Denchoeychai said that during the past year, the association has been very active in supporting both government and private organizations, with activities that included making the Ambrosia Fried Rice for the annual Vegetarian Festival, sending a committee to attend the Bartender Contest at the Dusit Resort, and making a giant cake for the Redemptorist School for Disabled People.

Additionally, the Chefs’ Association has organized ten Chef Career Development Training Projects.
The Chefs’ Association will stage the Pattaya Food and Hotelier Expo 2007 in cooperation with the F&B Association. The event will take place between July 19 and 21 at the A-One Royal Cruise Hotel. Suchart said they are working with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Housekeepers Association of Pattaya City and the Eastern Region to stage the event, which is being held for the first time.
Categories of entry will include Thai set food, Asian set food, fusion cuisine, decorations for fruit and for cakes, and a bartender contest.
