Two years ago another young Saudi girl was kidnapped and returned to Saudi, guesswork says to a horrible fate. Dina something escaped from her family in Saudi after years of abuse, made it to the PI where the authorities confiscated her passport on arrival and held her at the airport; she made a scene and was last seen screaming for help as she was physically dragged by 'two Arab looking men' onto a SAA flight from Manila to Riyadh. The Saudi embassy in Manila followed up with their standard appalling statement in these cases, calling it a 'family matter’.

When Saudi princes and princesses can easily be spirited away and never seen again, and considering the embarrassment this young girl has caused to the Kingdom, she's as good as dead by proxy whether in Oz or anywhere else, as a deterrent to others.

The Filipino authorities caved quicker than Thais due to the extraordinary numbers of Filipino workers in the KSA. Remittances are perhaps the leading source of foreign exchange in the Philippines.

Don't think it would be worth it. State sponsored assassination/abduction on top tier western foreign soil would be a major gamble by the Saudis.

The cheeky tweet princess with her emojis has outplayed the nasty foul-smelling arabs comprehensively with her smartphopne and is home and hosed I reckon.

Following their direct message exchange on Twitter, Ms Mohammed al-Qunun heeded the advice of Human Rights Watch not to surrender her mobile phone under any circumstances.

Yup, but she's the rare (well, very rare) exception to the rule - Anyone care to hazard a guess on how many have tried, and failed?

But, as I said, once mummy and daddy cut off the money stream, they soon come running back.

The "freedom to travel" and "adult independence" aren't quite as impressive when you lose your Centurion Amex or your Palladium Visa.

Funnily enough I interviewed an Arab bloke who'd graduated in the US and been working at Apple for a few years, you would think that was a dream job.

Obviously I asked him why he was jacking it in and going back to entry level back in the Middle East.

His answer? "My mother wants me back home".

If the family is rich, then its possible that she's been squirrelling money away for some time unnoticed.

Ultimately we want the Islamic world to give up its lamentable treatment of women.

Opportunities like these to humiliate KSA and similar regimes by offering their escaped women refuge from their social system with the world looking on is all part of the greater strategy to dismantle the backwards parts of their culture for the greater good of their society and the world.

It won't be with a bone saw team, that backfired badly, more likely a 'lone wolf' with 'psychological problems' and no connection to Saudi.

    Couple of updates:

Rahaf Mohammed al-Qunun, the 18-year-old Saudi woman who fled to Thailand to escape her allegedly abusive family, has been granted asylum in Australia, a Thai immigration official said Friday.

"Yes, Australian has granted her asylum, but we are waiting to hear where exactly she is going," immigration police chief Surachate Hakparn confirmed to CNN.

Hakparn said Canada had also offered Qunun asylum and they were waiting for her decision.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - A Saudi teenager who fled to Thailand saying she feared her family would kill her deleted her Twitter account on Friday after getting death threats, a friend said, while she awaits a decision on where she might be granted asylum.

This is what probably got her the death threats. Touching a man who is not her husband or family. Why, the strumpet, has she no decency?!

This tart is playing fast and loose with her affections. Apparently she is thinking of going to Canada instead.

    555. It's good to see Richard Engel doing that news report. I met him a few times in Cairo in the 1990s when he was a newbie journalist. We had mutual friends. He seems to be doing well for himself.

^This is not about immigration detention and stinky boat beggar wash-ups.

This about humiliating KSA and their treatment of their women with the world watching!

Good point, I read that in Time Magazine a few years ago.
Amazing numbers of housemaids working there. Not all happily mind you per the article but out of necessity some tolerate abuses to put it mildly.

The humiliation is illustrating the western rules/international law system as promoted is bullshit. Immigration laws, visa rules, transporting illegal/undocumented immigrants by airlines.

Everybody and their dog has been shown how to bypass some countries immigration laws.

Possibly to you, possibly not to a desperate person trying to improve their lifestyle.

A person turns up at an airport with a one way ticket and alleges to the check-in agent they are "highly likely" to be under some threat. Will all airlines turn a blind eye to existing, presumably internationally agreed, procedures and allow that person to board a plane?

Or is it only teenage females who will be exempt?

She's fucking off to Canada now, personally I'd have chosen Australia over Canada but each to their own.
