A 20-year-old college girl from central China's Hunan Province lost contact with her parents during her trip to Thailand, and was later found dead on a beach in Thailand's red-light district on Aug. 12, 2015.

Zhang Chunrong, 20 years old, was a college girl from central China's Hunan Province. She decided to take a trip to Thailand this summer because "there would be no time to travel anymore after she gets a job," Zhang's mother said.



Although she was worried about her daughter's safety, Zhang's mother Jing let her go because Zhang was an independent, careful grown-up. Zhang also promised her mother that she would keep in touch via Wechat, a mobile chat app available worldwide.

Zhang arrived at Thailand on Aug. 3, 2015. However, she lost contact with her parents almost immediately after arrival.

Jing received a call from the Chinese Embassy in Thailand three days later, telling her that her daughter has been found dead on a beach in Pattaya.

Heart-broken and confused, Jing wondered how her daughter ended up in Thailand's famous red-light district Pattaya instead of Bangkok.

After careful investigation, Mrs. Jing found that her daughter met a friend in Thailand and joined her in an online purchasing agency. Zhang opened an online shop about half a year ago, and this "friend of hers" has been sending Thai products ever since.

However, Zhang's friend stopped sending her goods unless "she took a field trip to Thailand" about two months ago. Jing suspects that it was a trap that lured her daughter to Thailand. Thai police has begun an investigation into the case.

Apart from the inexplicable invitation from her daughter's friend, Jing also noticed some abnormalities. "Zhang cancelled her flight and hotel reservation in Bangkok on Aug. 2," said Mrs. Jing. "She also left the tour group, and flew to Thailand by herself."

Parents of 20 Year Old Chinese Woman Found Dead in Pattaya Seek Answers



PATTAYA – Parents of a 20-year-old Chinese student was found dead at a condo in Pattaya on Aug 3, after being lured to meet a business associate in Thailand, are seeking answers after conflicting information.

The young woman was identified as Zhang Chunrong from Hunan province, reportedly arrived in Thailand on Aug 3 and her family lost contact with her right away, according to the report by China.org.cn

The authorized government web portal reported that staff of the Chinese embassy in Bangkok called her mother, Jing, to inform her that Zhang was found dead on a Pattaya beach three days after she arrived in Thailand.

However pattayanews.com reported on Friday that the woman was found dead on the balcony of a room on the fifth floor of the View Talay 7 condominium on Jomtien beach on Aug 4.

The family was quoted as saying that Zhang had traveled to Thailand to meet a person who supplied Thai products to her six-month-old online shop. Unless she visited personally, the person reportedly threatened to stop supplying her.

The mother feared the message was a trap, China.org.cn reported.

The website’s story, written in Thai, quoted her 32-year-old friend, identified as Lin Kun, as saying that Zhang had arrived at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport alone about noon on Aug 3 and was suffering from a stomach ache and a high fever.

The woman obtained some medicine at a local clinic. Then she boarded a bus and reached Pattaya about 8pm on Aug 3, the report said.

Ms Lin Kun aged 32 who was the dead girls friend she said that Ms Zhang had traveled to Thailand alone and arrived at Suvarnabhumi airport on the 3rd August at 12.00 pm. Later she suffered from a stomach ache and a fever so she went to see a doctor in Bangkok before travelling to Pattaya.

On August 4th in the afternoon, Ms Zhang was walking out on to the balcony but she wasn’t wearing anything so Ms Lin tried to stop her but Ms Zhang still went out. Ms Lin then went to the toilet and when she came out she found Mr Zhang dead on the balcony. However, the police officers didn’t find any traces of foul play.

Initially, the police officers expected that she might have suffered a heart attack or some type of congenital deceased. The body was then sent for an autopsy to find the real cause of death."

That story doesnt really add up.

^ Yeah Lin seems to be lying. Could the girl have been poisoned? So tragic and likely the truth will never be known.

Fit and healthy young women don't just suddenly drop dead from a stomach complaint unless that complaint is a gunshot wound, if it was a burst ulcer surely there would have been medical history or at least some prior discomfort that her family would have known about?

According to her mate she had a stomach ache, I can't remember ever hearing of a young girl having a stomach ache and suddenly dropping dead. I think if the truth ever gets out it'll be like nid suggested, ingestion of a drug of some kind.
