Fair point -doing a quick shufti around the web, some people seem to say yes, and some say no (and that those who say yes are exaggerating).

I will make a note and go ask Lloyd Dennis Hall in 5 or 6 years. By then he should have a pretty definitive answer...

Yeah, from what I've heard is that Asian jails do not tend to have the violence and gang stuff quite as bad as many western and latin american jails do. Not that I'd wanna try any of them out, denial of freedom is denial of freedom.
