Samut Prakan: 13-year-old raped by Facebook 'friend'

Police arrest teen for raping girl he knew from Facebook | Bangkok Post: breakingnews

    13-year-old raped by Facebook 'friend'

A teenager who befriended a 13-year-old girl through Facebook and later raped her was arrested in Samut Prakan early Saturday, police said.

Pol Capt Ekapol Anupak, of Samut Prakan police, said he received a report at 12.30am that a man had broken into a house in Muang district and raped the house owner's daughter.

The girl's parents told investigators that they had left their daughter at home alone while they went to work at a factory in Bang Pu Industrial estate. After they returned from work at about midnight, they saw their daughter being molested by an intruder.

The suspect escaped to the roof of the house and went to hide in a washroom at a neighbour's house. He later surrendered when a team of police officers arrived and surrounded the house.

Officers said the 18-year-old suspect, a security guard at a factory at Samut Prakan, confessed that he had known the girl through Facebook for about five months.

He said the girl told him that she was usually home alone when her parents went to work.

Police said the man told them that he had met the girl at her house two months ago, raped her and threatened her not to tell anyone about it.

He then told her that he would expose her on Facebook if she refused to meet him again on Friday night.

Pol Capt Ekapol identified the suspect as Prakasit Chantakhoon, 18. Police charged him with trespassing and rape.

Another reason why you don't share your personal details for the world to see. Too many simply don't get it - and I don't mean a 13 year old girl. I mean millions upon millions of adults.

^ My son does to protect his 16 yo daughter; but, he and his wife and friends are all merrily posting to the world of their trips (a no-no re thieves), parties and the like. I reluctantly added my name but as an alias with all false data and photo - they know who I am.
I went on their Facebook just yesterday to change the language of my Facebook from Thai (Facebook has a bad habit of switching your language according to the country you are in), and it took me literally ages for their page of 'friends' to scroll to the bottom to permit me to change. These are 'friends' of 'friends' of 'friends', 'ad infinitum' interspersed amongst their normal circle of friends: anyone of whom you don't really know can weasel into your life, let alone your pocketbook.
I want to leave Facebook permanently but they will get a lip on, for sure.

Getting off Facebook is harder than quitting smoking allegedly. It takes hours of detailed removals. Yet another warning sign. The big problem for most of us, those with the smarts to realize this is a big problem, is that we are related to others who happily flash us in all their own postings.
My mind is not for rent to any God or Government, There's no hope for your discontent - the changes are permanent!
