a "typical" rich Thai who thought he could get away with anything, even murder

Netizens rage at 'rich' man abusing law
    14 Jan 2013

The unnamed "rich" driver of a car involved in a traffic accident has become the target of attack by netizens after he allegedly claimed to have connections in high places and refused to take responsibility for running into a car in front of him, according to a report in Khao Sod newspaper.

    From Facebook.com

Several pictures of him were posted on the Facebook social media website.

According to the poster, he threatened to harm the driver of the car he rear-ended. He denied any responsibility and threatened the young man's sister during the argument.

According to the poster, the man is an executive of a bank and owns a tutoring school in Siam Square.

He fled the accident scene, but police caught up with him. He told police that he was attacked by the other driver and refused to take a breath-alcohol test.

He also tried to escape, so the police took him to the station, according to the post.

He claimed to have connections and said that nobody could touch him. He also flashed a million baht wristwatch he was wearing at police, according to the poster.

The responses to the story by the netizens were nearly all negative. Some said he was a "typical" rich Thai who thought he could easily get away with anything, even murder.

However, a few claimed to have witnessed the accident. They said it was not totally his fault. Both cars were travelling fast and the car in front of his braked abruptly, so they collided, which these posters said could happen to anyone.

They also said he did not appear drunk as claimed by the story poster.

Later, the man who posted the attack on the "rich man", posted another message saying that the man's family had agreed to pay for the damage to the other car.

And in this statement, the case against the hiSo toss pot was proven..... and the Thai's will carry on letting them get away with it.

The Netizens can rage all they want, but in the end the masters put them back to slaving. Thailand has one big class divide and there is NO justice here.

Figured as much. I remember reading an editorial after that Club 21 shooting which said the outrage would last so long, things would die down, and it would all be swept under the carpet.

Hardly prescient, just goes to show it's expected.

Mmmm, I see a problem here - it is entirely his fault! It doesn't matter how fast the cretin in front was travelling, he was travelling to close to the vehicle in front. It doesn't surprise me that some folks don't understand this seeing some of the idiot driving here.

This aspect is a heavy detriment on society and highly reflective of what "the people" will tolerate....a institutionally corrupt system from top to toe.

Sunken into a deep class orientation surely doesn't help the situation.

Hey come on PD ,did any one in their right mind expect anything any different? ,certainly not you or I, only the dreamers in this forum could expect a Different result ,maybe this is why I find it rather sad that certain members who castigate the Kiwi who "fled the scene" in Pattaya in the other thread ,for me its just a karma payback , you live by the sword so shall you die by it ,its as simple as that ,"justice" is for the Thai rich and connected ,as for the "aliens" on holiday or whatever ,which is how we are described on our 90 day immigration report form ,just regard it as "payback time " for the many injustices metered out to us farangs ,just completely forget "conscience" cos its totally extinct here .

ore likely there was a long line of relatives with investment ideas. Would like to think some how a Farang got a cut of it somehow by saying his herd of cows were sick back in Ohio or Aberdeenshire.

What is said on Twitter, or Facebook is not news.

What 'netizens' say is going to change nothing, and their statements have zero merit. Journalists use it because they are lazy.

If it was significant, totalitarian governments would swiftly stop it.

These netizens are interesting though as you might think that this is the very beginning of a movement of people not prepared to take this shit anymore. However, we all know damn well that if faced with one of these HiSo kunts, they would be doffing their hat all the way to the mortuary, especially if there was 10 baht in it for them. I might take it more seriously when they march on a police station or court house and demand justice.

^Maybe they will, one day. One things pretty certain, there's bound to be some pretty major societal upheaval in the not too distant future. Which way things could go is anybodys guess.
