Sad to observe that we have folks who call for the death penalty for such a minor crime

ZESE ARE ZE RULES!!! YOU MUST OBEY!!!!

Obviously no point debating the issue with someone so set in their ways and so ignorant of the iconsistency of laws relating to intoxicants.

Google Prof. David Nutt, former chief drug advisor to the UK government if you actually want to wake up from your propagandised mindset, but I expect you probably don't.

I don't get you. What he did was illegal. Said post says those that deal illegal drugs are scum.

What does that have to do with inconsistent laws?

He's implying that if they are dealing in legal drugs (e.g. publicans, corner shop fag salesmen), he has no problem, which of course is a different issue.

Unfortunately in a region like that, they are the rules and you do have to obey. There is no debate. Which is a crying shame, but, I think that there are far more pressing issues in those regions than the harmful nature of intoxicants.

Look, if you think you're going to win an argument with an Emirati copper or judge, you're pissing to the wind.

Their lawyers will straight away tell them to plead guilty, and then gradually get the sentence knocked down to something that is manageable.

They don't fuck about and let people off like they do in Blighty these days.

Added: They'll get wheeled into court and not have a clue what is said around them, then wheeled back to chokey again. It will probably be well into 2013 before they get sentenced, although like the UK, time served will get taken into account.

Yes, what the bloke in this case did was illegal, and utterly stupid, agreed?

What I'm taking issue with is someone saying that anyone who sells any illegal drug is scum, by pointing out that the harm caused by someone selling the illegal drug in this particular case is much less than some tart pouring your beer in a bar.

Point being, it's a fucking stupid attitude because the harm inflicted by a substance has nothing to do with it's legality and everything to do with it's toxicity and harmful effect on the individual/society.

If drug laws were applied consistently based on the actual harm they cause, which they should be in a sane, rational world, selling alcohol should be punished more harshly than someone selling weed.

Just because the drug they sell is legal doesn't mean that off licences etc aren't destroying lives and communities, they are. But, they're not scum because they're legally sanctioned?

Is an Arab selling alcohol illegally in the ME scum, because there it is illegal? Or is he not because it's legal in our countries, so therefore OK?

Thse are the inconsistencies I mentioned. It's bollocks to blindly support the government line on drugs cos the cunts don't know their arse from their elbow relating to the subject.

Scale of harm from the Lancet:

The reference to Prof David Nutt was made because he calls for a system based on the actual harm done rather than the current hysterical disproportionate drug law we have today. He was sacked from the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs for being far too realistic in his approach, can't have facts getting in the way of the government line, eh?

Of course, a sane and rational approach is beyond most governments, and many people who believe the utter shite they spout re legal/illegal drugs.

Yea, I'm not really talking about the particular case there, just the attitude that "All drug dealers iz scum, innit". Such a fucking pedestrian outlook.

Of course you have to follow the rules in the country you're in or face the consequences, don't disagree.

Don't believe any Government should dictate to what is right or wrong as long as it does not effect the lives of others ,but in this case the guy is a f wit. If the power of logic had military might, the world would be a better place. Unfortunately that is not the case. and stupid people will make stupid choices. So sad to bad. Jim

^^Yeah I misread (no literal) your point. Always makes me laugh, the most staunch anti drug brigade are outside pubs every day pint and Regal King Size in hand disparaging those who get their buzz in a different way.

They tend to dislike blacks and other non whites too. Behind their backs anyway. I learnt to ignore their opinions a long time ago, if I want to know what they are currently thinking I'll read the Daily Mail and then put a cigarette out in my arm. It's not as painful as engaging these cunts in a conversation.

He's living in the Middle East he knows the penalties for taking LET ALONE selling drugs of any kind. He's a learning disabled mother fucker. Another one out of the gene pool.

Expat brats tend to think they're bulletproof.

There was a great "Banged up Abroad" about one who ended up in a Kuwait nick looking at some seriously bad time. He managed to escape when Saddam invaded, and the Kuwaitis have never tried to extradite him to finish his sentence.

I'll try and find a link after the footy...

Age has got diddle squat to do with it. At 19 I had a baby and 2 jobs. I may have done some foolish things, but they didn't involve breaking the law. ESPECIALLY in a foreign country. He knew what would happen and he obviously didn't care so, he should get what the law says. Your liberal, soft ideas is one reason crime is so bad and we have repeat offenders.

He's "scum" by the fact he's a drug dealer. What would you call him if he'd dealt drugs to your kids Albert ? I doubt it would be nice.
"Jumping in the freezer without a coat" will kill you, so you don't do it. Common sense really. Dealing drugs in a country that has the death penalty will kill you. So you don't do it. Common sense really.
Yes we've all committed crimes at some stage of our lives, but how many have committed a crime that carries the death penalty ? The line in the sand has to be drawn somewhere. Failure to act opens the door to drug dealers looking for a weakness in the system to which they'll exploit.
Death is natures way of telling you to slow down.

I know a lot of people don't agree with me on this, but we're all entitled to our own opinions (at least for now). I don't see the harm in weed any more than alchohol (i.e use not abuse) so 20g of erb (3 or 4 days weed for a heavy smoker) is surely not worth death. I don't feel sorry for the guy as you reap what you so and he had to of known the risks, but I think the law's fucked up to meet out such a punishment. However, when it comes to synthetically made drugs which destroy peoples brains quickly, ruin families and economies and have only negative effects on society - I'd certainly stop short of the death sentence, but simply set punishments which eradicate 99% of use as it's not even worth thinking about it.
